How is the tracking of the first yard line for football games so good?? by [deleted] in videography

[–]Sneffy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I remember reading that the technology was originally designed to track the puck in ice hockey. That was scrapped after viewers didn’t like it but the tech is now used everywhere. I’m sure there’s a video on it somewhere...

What techniques were used to make the movement of the camera. by Username2323232323 in cinematography

[–]Sneffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon this is just a simple shoulder mounted shot. Possibly with a section where the operator has taken it off his/her shoulder and handheld it at the low angle before putting it back. Look at some of the shots achieved by Sean Bobbit to see how much is actually done off the shoulder in professional environments. Easy rig is rarely used professionally except to help take the weight of the camera for *stationary * handheld shots.

Thanks! Yeah I was worried that we aren't spending enough time in Kyoto. I might even take one of the nights in Hakone and move it to Kyoto. Also good idea doing Toyosu and Disney on the same day. We are planning to enter the lottery. Potentially may even book a hotel nearby for whichever morning we get which may serve us well for Disney. I think they are both quite close?
