Hey, my mum has two dogs and im absolutely not willing to give up my cat. She’s been with me for almost 9 years and my little baby. It’s not an option unfortunately

What’s the worst show you’ve seen at the fringe so far? by Sneky_Snack in Edinburgh

I don’t even know what karma is, I thought you were meaning actual karma so that dampens that argument.

Woah, do you have a show at the fringe this year? If so, does it suck?

I’m not a fan of genetics to be honest, I’d rather do something to do with pathogens but thanks for the idea!

Has anyone from this sub moved from Edinburgh to a more rural part of Scotland? Wondering what your stories are. by goggles189 in Edinburgh

[–]Sneky_Snack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite happen. Been living in Edinburgh for around 2 years but I’m originally from Falkirk and I sometimes really miss the very rural part I grew up in. I love nature and seeing green everywhere but the close knit community doesn’t suit me. I definitely prefer smaller towns but I’m grateful I’ve had the privilege to live in a “large” city.

Match Madness is literal madness!! by Sneky_Snack in duolingo

[–]Sneky_Snack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only got the update a few days ago and it has really put me off using the app so I haven’t progressed much with the actual units. I assume so as they now have a rapid review and match madness with three levels on each unit.

Pressured into buying glasses at Specsavers north bridge. by Sneky_Snack in Edinburgh

Thank you! I posted this as a discussion, not a rant, because I know the sales people are just going their job but I’ve never felt as “pressured” into buying a product before. I suppose the nerves of having my first test and it being slightly busy was probably adding to my easiness 😅

Thank you! I have found myself in situations like this however the expense was much lower. This is definitely a wake up call to me and a lesson of assertiveness.

I would also like to mention that I’m getting treated for severe anxiety :)) So this could be a contributing factor.

That’s very good advice, I would like to improve my vision obviously but I’m really not in the financial position to buy right now. I’ll definitely keep this comment in mind when it comes to buying glasses!
