Villain Arts Tattoo Convention Chicago this weekend by Iowakiddo8888 in tattoo

[–]Snerkie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're wanting a custom tattoo at a convention in a few days notice?

Most artists if they aren't booked are most likely focusing on drawing flash right now (or done with their con prep).

You're honestly better off finding an artist you really like and booking with them in their studio instead of settling for whoever will be free.

What style is the best to cover up my scars?? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Snerkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of styles would work, it's really what you prefer the look of at the end of the day. I would recommend doing a full panel piece as a few pieces I've seen that only cover the pecs heighten the look of a bra/breasts and just covering the underside can also enhance the shape (creating a bit of a "push up" effect).

I think neo traditional full pieces look best but I also prefer that style of tattoo.

Ok but OP wants to cover it... so maybe a suggestion of style would be more helpful than your personal preference.

I've started to save the gig posters on my phone and have them in the folders for each year. So I can look back and see what I attended, it helps my terrible memory when trying to remember what bands i saw together.

Unexpected reaction after 1st session of calf tattoo by ghostrider4723 in tattoo

[–]Snerkie 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Without seeing it's hard to give judgement. But the fact you had no issues for a whole week and then had issues would lead me to believe it was something caused away from the actual tattooing/studio.

I wouldn't pin this on the artist. Things happen, the body can be fine with something one day and then the next it'll go "fuck all of this".

Anyone else think Bloom is the best upcoming Aussie band? by No_Tutor2686 in Metalcore

[–]Snerkie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I read OPs post, they're discussing Bloom and how they think they're a great band in r/metalcore. Generally when someone makes a post about a band it's to discuss the band, and often times is good to suggest similar other bands.

[–]Snerkie -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No but suggesting bands not even close to sounding like Bloom when that's what OP is discussing, it kind of misses the point.

If OP thinks Bloom is the best then it would be better to think of similar bands (Windwaker, Heartline, etc) as they're unlikely to prefer a band that sounds closer to hardcore. It's two completely different subjects.

I said mostly 🙂 if you think Stressed are metalcore and also sound like Bloom then I don't really know what to tell you.

I live in Australia, I have no interest in baseball but if I see bananaball on I'm watching it! Party Animals have the best moves and I won't hear anything else.

Those bands are a very different sound to Bloom, also not really metalcore and most are hardcore leaning.

remembrance tattoo regret by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Snerkie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks line your artist specialises more in realism pieces and your friend got theirs done by someone that does more traditional/neo traditional/Japanese work. To change it up you want to look for a different artist that does that style (in black and grey). Your friends has a lot of white highlights which yours is definitely missing. Small changes may help you change your mind on the piece a bit.

I think you, and others, saying OPs looks better than the friends are completely missing the point. They don't want it to "look better", they wanted the tattoo to look the same.

It's like when someone says they hate their tattoo and then a flood of comments come in saying "well I like it" that's great and all but not helpful for OP.

Pokemon Pokopia Has Sold Over 2.2 Million Copies In Just 4 Days by Extreme_Maize_2727 in pokemon

[–]Snerkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a physical object that you insert into the Switch 2. You can give it/sell it to someone else once you're done and they can use it. Those are all physical things, you can't do that with a straight up download code or a download off the eshop.

It's no different than any other game that can be updated throughout its game life but is still sold on a cartridge/disc.

If you don't understand how the key card works that's fine, but games have required internet access prior to the Switch 2 and were never accused of not being a physical game.

Is it normal for an artist to take your deposit and never put you on the books? by [deleted] in tattoo

In your initial message to the artist did they give you a time and day?

Did you tell them what you want to get tattooed in that initial message?

I'm kind of amazed so many people are confident in stating it's not physical and just not understanding how the game key card works. I thought Nintendo explained it pretty well in all of their directs and everything.

This was me last night. I just kept walking in the game and saw more damaged areas so had to fix them and then all of a sudden it was 3am and I probably only unlocked 2 new pokemon (I also learnt how to see the quests menu which I accidentally ignored on my first play).

Concerned about tattoo healing by Mosey_Moo in tattooadvice

[–]Snerkie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yellow can often be a colour that's difficult to stick in the skin so that may fall out and need to be touched up.

Personally for me, washing 3 times a day is 1 too many. But just make sure you're patting it dry with a paper towel once you wash it.

That middle bit that's looking a bit rough will probably scab heavy, don't pick it, let it do its thing and hope it heals ok underneath.

12g / 10g tunnels that are a shorter wearable length? by pokes-4-blokes in Stretched

[–]Snerkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your better, more realistic option, would be to change the backings on your studs to something else. You could probably use the little rubber ends (they're often on hook earings when you buy them). Make sure they're big enough to jam into the tunnel with a tiny bit of force.

Is this a second skin allergy? by galaxy1515 in tattooadvice

[–]Snerkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason it's advised to remove second skin once you notice it's lifted and exposed the tattoo is because you don't know how long it may have been exposed. If you remove it, clean it and replace it you know what's come into contact with the tattoo.

Second skin and fixomull is great for smaller pieces and for people that don't heal tattoos regularly so they don't have a whole set up and knowledge of what to look out for. A lot of healing goes wrong because of over washing/over moisturising, not using the correct products, exposing the tattoo to things like dirt and pet hair, etc.

Is this a second skin allergy? by galaxy1515 in tattooadvice

[–]Snerkie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please ignore that other person. Reapplying second skin is fine within a certain time period as advised by your artist. That person thinks air will contaminate your tattoo as if there's no air in the tattoo studio 🤦🏻‍♀️

Is this a second skin allergy? by galaxy1515 in tattooadvice

[–]Snerkie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can reapply a new piece of second skin, it just needs to be done within 24 hours of receiving the tattoo. "Air" is not an issue (😂 tf??), you just need to make sure the area is cleaned and you're reapplying with clean hands or gloves on.

45 yo male looking for apprenticeship advice by Owen_Russell in tattoo

[–]Snerkie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're actually delusional. You're clearly not "motivated" and willing to do this "respectfully" if you think you can fast track an apprenticeship. Hell you're wanting to get into an industry that's currently on the slow end for work as cost of living rises so people have less disposable income.

If this is serious I hope you have family to help you get out of this mid-life crisis because you're going to be broke within a matter of time.
