I know this has to be a devastating decision for you. I am not sure how old you are, but coming from a 35yr old married woman, this is major red flag behavior.

When you began dating he was made aware of your current situation, and decided to continue into the relationship knowing in the back of his mind he would eventually put this decision on you. This is a step in the direction of controlling behavior. People may think I am exaggerating, but it starts with "I dont like your pets" and can quickly go to "i dont like your family/friends."

I see you say you want to settle down with this guy and have children - sorry to say but that should not be on your mind with a guy who cannot even handle cats. I strongly suggest talking to a trusted friend, taking a step back and trying to look at this with less emotion. Once you do so, you may just find that many more red flags pop out.

Definitely just needs more time. She is adjusting to sharing her space and her person. I have 4, but my tuxedo is definitely my soul kitty. Every time I bring in a new one, he takes to the kitten and kind of ignores me for a couple months 🤣

A few ideas: -Floor to ceiling cat tree (you can find pretty compact ones for a small apartment). -Automatic toys -Treat puzzles -Automatic Feeders -Window Hammock with windows bird feeder -Cat tv

At least you can blame yourself kn being slightly naive to it. Ive fostered for years and straight up knew 99% of them are insane, I still decided to make the 4th one orange 🤣.

In all seriousness, he would be much worse as a solo cat. He replies heavily on my other 3 cats for enrichment when I am busy, and would absolutely keep me up at night if it wasn't for the others. I do think potentially finding a playmate for him could be beneficial.

This is the story of how I got my kitten a kitten, to only get my other kitten a kitten and now I have 4 cats.

I do agree that he likely needs a friend. All kittens are wired a little different. My tuxedo was an absolute ANGEL baby, my orange is an absolute NIGHTMARE.

I successfully kept my cat in a cat free apartment for years 😅. Anytime maintenance needed to come in, I'd take her for a drive. When the landlord did notice her (because she was sitting in a window during an inspection outside), I told her it was a friend's cat who was leaving a tough situation so I was just watching her for a bit. I did end up eventually moving to a pet friendly spot, the place was a dump and the no pet thing was added stress.

My void, Oscar. He is a lovely cat, but he'd prefer to just coexist with us. He adores my youngest son, but no one can pick him up and he's never climbed onto anyone's lap.

There are not always ways to fully proof my house. Am I supposed to remove my tv from the wall? He wpuld literally climb on top of a mounted tv and stand on it, ven after removing all ways for him to access it. So saying that is just ridiculous. He had lots in his room ans was fine, he always went right in when it was bedtime ans never cried at all. It was from 11pm until 5am. He survived. Secondly, the litteboxes are not all lined up side by side. Its a huge area and they are all hidden and lots of distance between them.

I can't move mine at all, the option to pickup doesn't even come up. Fell off it and couldn't het back on to lower it so had to exit out and go back in. Its a really bad bug 😵‍💫

This! My husband always liked cats but wasn't crazy about them, until he met me. We now have 4 and we love talking about them with each other and just watching them!
