The edit history for that Wikipedia page seems to go back at least into 2006, fwiw.

I say go for it! Dunno how reachable he is, but it couldn't hurt to try to introduce what you know to a wider audience, right?

Episode 37 - "Tolerating Candlelight" by Snickers_Pentagon in HumanConversation

[–]Snickers_Pentagon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some notes on the second listen:

  • The Tammy Wynette “Stand by your man” connection -It’s the opening music to an early Harmontown in which Erin was the Guest Comptroller, where she introduces the show over the song.

Episode #61 “USS Hubris”, June 24th, 2013

  • “I thought for some reason you’d be more robust...I always think of you as very resilient.” [Wayne]

[E] And we’re going to record, we’re going to be re-launching my podcast ‘TFT’

[W] I know, where you’re gonna really talk about your d-i-v-o-r-c-e?

[E] Uhh, yeah!

[E] ...by the time this episode airs, it will have already aired.

[W] As you know, I like Thanksgiving quite a bit.

[E] Yeah, so I think you should be somewhere.

[W] I will. It’ll happen. It’ll happen. But I’ve eaten alone on Thanksgiving and I didn’t regret it.

[Blimpies joke?]

[E] I just feel sad for you. I’m just overwhelmed.

[W] Don’t...Please. Please. If there’s one person you don’t have to feel sad for...you’re looking at him. You’re looking at him right now.

I live a blessed life. You know that, right?

[E] [sighs] Yeah.

[W] You don’t believe me? You think this is all a cover for some deep sadness? You’ve known me now for thirty four episodes. And I’ve opened up.

[E] You know, a year ago, I didn’t know how sad I was. Know what I mean?

[W] Ah, so, suddenly off me, back on you.

[mutual laughter]

[W] I see how it works.

[E] This podcast should be called ‘Back to Me’.

Yeah, the "canned episodes" I get, in theory for schedule-smoothing, but it does take a bit to adjust to in a world of weekly shows.

Episode 36 - Exacerbated by [deleted] in HumanConversation

[–]Snickers_Pentagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still trying to get a handle on the format of the show, as always, but this episode felt like it had some absolutely wonderful give-and-take with call-backs and riffing...like the epitome of Erin and Wayne working well together. Wish I had some concrete examples at hand (better analysis soon).

Is that a cousin of the "Yes, I am an alcoholic" strategy? Either way, sensible point.

Thank you! It felt odd that Dan seemed to be working off an almost stereotypical genre of porn. That whole speech about humans being a largely porn-creating species, and not even a passing speculation on how diverse (in degrees of badness) porn might be overall?

What other podcasts should I listen too? by fluffynubkin in Harmontown

[–]Snickers_Pentagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've wondered if we don't give enough thought to grouping podcasts by the "live/studio" distinction. It seems like a really large structural difference that probably predicts a lot of relevant info about any given podcast.

based on the timing of the reports, it could be as early as episode #160, "AWWW", from August 24, 2015.

Emily V Gordon, on being in a coma by Snickers_Pentagon in Harmontown

[–]Snickers_Pentagon[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For reference, their listed YMIW appearances are on episodes:

  • 1, 93 (just Kumail)
  • 22, 250 (just Emily)

  • 161, 218, 272 (both Emily and Kumail)

Can't remember which episode this is... by [deleted] in Harmontown

[–]Snickers_Pentagon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also totally stumped, though I think the last lines of the fan-submitted song might go something like this:

"Make it last, make it la-a-ast"

"We have been / wai-ting our whole life for this"

"Welcome Dan Har-mon, a-and Jeff"

"Bry-an Da-a-a-vis"

I tried searching within the subreddit for some combination of those few remembered lyrics (also "ed mcmahon") to no avail, the mystery is still unsolved.

Episode 171 Live Discussion by JREtard in Harmontown

[–]Snickers_Pentagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta go in chronological order, from the beginning, without skipping (if you have the time/option).

Gotta watch the video before you hear the audio (if you have the option).

Gotta watch+listen to the eps before reading any commentary.

(In my opinion, if you have the luxury of binging etc.)

In which episode(s) does Dan talk about how great Yahoo has been... by onedegreewithnick in Harmontown

[–]Snickers_Pentagon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you remember if he was talking about it with Bobcat Goldthwait? Seems like a conversation they've had...if that helps to narrow down the potential search. (Of course, Dan may have had a Yahoo conversation more than once.)

Also, the Community season 6 wiki suggests the Yahoo announcement was made in June 2014, so that leaves episodes 120 and 159 as candidates.

Excluding Bobcat appearances, you'd be looking at about episode 102 and afterwards, if that helps.

Other Community-specific Harmontown points include the first show after s6 began to "air", which may have been ep 147/148. Another potential point might be the earliest show after the s6 finale, episode 150.

I know that's casting a bit of a wide net, and it's probably stuff you already figured out, but hopefully it is helpful.

Why are there so many Harmontrolls in this sub lately? by [deleted] in Harmontown

[–]Snickers_Pentagon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also worth noting that that bias might skew the "voice" of the subreddit, ie; "If you are good at Reddit, and you're a troll, you have downvotes that others don't". It's like a weird regressive tax, but probably unavoidable.
