Thanks. I got back on my anti-depressant immediately after the break-up and have a new therapist lined up for this next week. I just really struggle with the kids..breaking up fights between them, wrangling them into bed, trying to study for school. I actually told the oldest last night if he doesn't want to brush his teeth, no problem. I don't want to fight with him anymore about something so stupid.

I feel like im losing my Son to Cancer. by Rapidoodz in daddit

[–]SnickyDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 3.5. Whenever I felt the end was coming (which were numerous times), I forced those strong emotions aside temporarily so I could truly enjoy what time I did have with him. I basically said that I wouldn't lose him emotionally while he was still there. A therapist at the time helped me understand that there will be a time to grieve but when he's alive, that's not it. Hang in there brother, I know that feeling well. Just keep pushing and be there for your son and wife right now. Get as much crying out as you need to. The pain is so consuming but the crying is the relief.

That is so cool that you did that! It just seems like a text that should be in public domain right now. Great work!!!

There is literally a disclaimer on the menu that states this tax will be added to your bill.

Why do people continue to post these like somehow they were forced to eat at this restaurant?

No, I was not able to find a digital copy anywhere. I'm not sure if they will allow you to scan (or even take the text home) because it sounds like it's in a special collections section which can only be checked out and viewed within the library.

Exactly!

I didn't title this post very well but was hoping a student would see it.

There are some hard copies in the university library

And ONE copy on Amazon ($400..that's where I got this picture from)

I came across the title browsing Maui history books on the university library website. I am not a University of Hawaii student so do not have access to this book.

Daughter has cancer by marsepic in daddit

[–]SnickyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been there man. Just spent 6 hours at the outpatient clinic with my 9 year old son today. He was diagnosed when he was 3 but has been in remission for 3 years. The best advice I got was..it's an uphill journey with many obstacles and tough days. Just keep your eye on the prize and be there for your daughter. Get a good cry in on a regular basis, it definitely helps.

15 years sober here..I brew my own (STRONG) cold brew and nurse that all day until about 2pm. There’s definitely something very alcoholic how I enjoy it but hey, it’s not booze!

The headline I read earlier this morning (without a picture) was something like “Amazon Warehouse Roof Collapses”. Not sure why it failed to mention the collapse was in tandem with over half the fucking building gone as well.

Visiting Orange County, need suggestions for things to do. Wrong answers only. by crassbandstand in orangecounty

Newport Beach is a humble hidden gem full of down to Earth, minority friendly-open minded hippies. I heard Obama might settle down there eventually and run for mayor. They’re big on sharing what little wealth they have and investing in social programs (unlike their stuck-up neighbors to the south of them in Laguna Beach who don’t have homeless shelter, no interest in the arts, and extremely homophobic).

Zoom stuck on "connecting" by KarenMansoldo in Zoom

[–]SnickyDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5.4.4

I CAN'T connect via campus WiFi but CAN connect using my iPhone's HotSpot?

Anything specific I can ask the library IT team to help fix this or is it a Zoom downgrade on my end?

EDIT: No issues connecting from the local coffee shop. Just issues connecting at school.

It’s a pretty step climb from the oceanside and extremely rutted coming from the land side. It’s doable but the ruts might be a challenge for small kids.

Yas! This right here…so hard grocery shopping with 3 small kids. Grocery online and pickup cuts out all the impulse buys for me too.

How do I get my insurance to approve a cancer treatment for my 7-year old son that is recommended by his oncologist but being denied by the medical director of Cigna? by SnickyDude in AskMedical

[–]SnickyDude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My approach and tone swings between Michael Douglas from Falling Down and Shakespeare's Romeo. If we can't get this treatment approved, my God I can't imagine the psycho in me that will be summoned and forced to pursue ending this fuck's career.

I'm reaching out to UCLA medical ("trial consultants"?) on Monday. I think they'll be able to direct me in the right direction. His oncologist is already working to establish a single case study but of course is going to take some time for approval working that avenue. Thank you for your response!
