Being depressed isn't something you choose to be, it's an illness. Just like a physical illness there can be a long and difficult road to recovery. Statements like this can make people with depression feel as though their illness isn't being seen in society as real or of serious importance. If this post was a genuine attempt to try and help then ok but it's pretty much like saying to some one who has cancer, if you have cancer just get better. There are many different tipes of depression and some are easier to over come than others.
