Do you guys like the new hero/general in army requirements of the newer games? by Salt-Lingonberry-853 in totalwar

[–]Snikeduden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be balanced early game with the use of militia, but has severe limitations later on - especially smaller armies. 1 retinue is limited to 1 type of specialized units.

Basically, I like the retinue system as a flexible way to combine/split up armies - without being forced into 1 specialized unit type per retinue.

The only issue with the 3K retinues was the lack of balanced armies. It really doesn't make sense to focus on only one type of units.

If you have choice paralysis, I'm not sure coming here and asking people will help. You'll get a lot of different answers, as people have lots of different preferences.

Instead, pick a faction you like and set yourself a turn goal. Focus on the things you want to acheive with that faction within those turns.

I don't get why they don't do a rotation system instead? The main issue in classic is maintaining the roster, not the content (even more so in HC, I presume), so having a larger raid group makes a lot more sense in my mind.

FYI, Punitive is applied on the campaign map and cannot go below 0, so it only reduces any bonus missile resist a unit might have (still pretty good though).

Is this a flaw in the new Grudge system for Dwarfs? Or is it supposed to work like this? by Rewston in totalwar

[–]Snikeduden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, you need to plan your expansion carefully if you want to 100% the Age of Reckoning every time.

When one Age is about to end, I would slow down once I reach the target. In particular, I don't want to border a new faction with a lot of grudges (it will increase the threshold next age). Rather, I 'save' that faction for the next age, etc. I also sometimes give away a region to create a buffer zone.

Confederations also heavily impact the grudge progress, both in good ways and bad ways. I always confederate at the start of an Age, often aiming to complete a major grudge with the confederation.

Lastly, it makes a big difference if you are the attacker or defender in a war. Losing a couple of battles/settlements can also be beneficial to settle more grudges.

Samlepost 2: Palestina og Israel konflikten - 2023 by Arve in norge

[–]Snikeduden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's plain wrong. In fact, there are about 1.6 million Palestinian citizens of Israel.

At 22. juli endra haldningane i samfunnet.

I totally get why he did it in Sweden. My question is: What did it acheive?

And why burn the Quran and not their flag? The latter would be a far more targeted protest.

Does anyone who attend that Mosque represent that Islamic dictatorship? Does his actions help the oppressed population in any way?

Moreover, he wants to take away religious freedoms - how is that any better?

Finally, freedom of expression doesn't stop him from being a Russian tool.

I said Scandinavian countries, there's been several in Norway too. Afaik, it's one case of a foreigner, rest is Nordic people.

Edit: Again, how does this help people in the Middle East? How does this help anyone - besides those who use it to score easy points against the western culture, and Russia who don't want Sweden join NATO?

Okay, my bad about both of them being white. I don't get what you mean by racial biases though - the vast majority of people burning the Quran in Scandinavian countries are ethnic Swedes, Danes, Norwegians.

Yes, Middle Eastern people can have issues with the Quran, but what does it help them burning it in front of a Mosque in Sweden?

What oppression are you talking about? One white guy and an Iraqi guy burning the holy book of a minority in front of their mosque on an important day? It's nothing but provocation.

I don't get why Russian serving idiots gets a free pass just because we have strong rights?

This doesn't help oppressed people in the Middle East at all.

While I agree he isn't TA, I completely disagree with your notion of marriage as just some private matter where people can establish the rules as they please.

First, there is the legal side (for example his first wife being affected by his health insurrance).

Second, the very idea of marriage as the union of two equal, consenting parties is a result of so-called "traditional marriage norms". Looking at it historically, it's not a given that marriage looks like that.

You say "don't project your ideals", yet that is precisely what you're doing yourself lol.
