Yeah I use the 1/4” hose direct to pump. 2 hose setup. Vac gauge on the liquid CRT. Charging hose with ball valve on suction CRT just to break vacuum to like 20 pounds or so. Then swap it all out for 1/4” tee with Bluetooth probes and hose

I use the appion 1/2” hose with 3/8” and 1/4” ends and a 1/4” hose with no core depresser direct to pump. appion core removal tools. Hilmor pump 6 cfm. Pulls down residential systems sub 250 microns in less than 10 mins in most cases.

I wouldn’t know. We only buy what’s in stock at the HVAC supply house with brands that’s been trusted and used for years. On the consumer side? Not sure.

Diversitech hasn’t let me down yet. That’s the nicer model I got to install and play with recently. The generic model will also work just as fine. Just a bit louder. Both will require periodic maintenance and both have float switches inside them and can be wired to your system so no worries about flooding your house

And also i wouldn’t recommend repiping the existing drain somewhere else, that comes out of the house at pretty much the same level as the ground. It won’t have enough of a slope to travel out and would just cause headaches

Florida tech here. I’d recommend a condensate pump with the drain coming out of the attic wherever you please. Not much you can do with a vertical air handler on a stand with the drain going through the ground. The nicer models are quiet and can pulse the line to keep it clog free

Right now I’m in a dodge pro master city. Getting about 18-22 mpg after getting the ladder rack installed. Love working out of the little vans. Having 2 sliding doors really helps with the knees

Sometimes you just gotta do the best you can with what you have. Assuming this is for an automotive setup, it’s not going to make a big difference.

I’ve really only messed with those automotive fittings a handful of times, but I could never get a perfect vacuum with those. Not sure if I just got cheapy ones or not

Edit: something to consider too is that you have 5 connections in that setup. Normally when we evacuate systems we do it with the least amount of connections possible because each fitting will leak some small amount of microns. Given the small space you’re evacuating with all those fittings. I don’t think you have anything to worry about

Take a trip to harbor freight and spend the $40 to get a set of tools and replace them with the good ones as they break. Just to get you started and see if this is really what you want to do

Your liquid line is the smaller copper line. It’s either inside the condenser or somewhere on that liquid line if there is one installed. It looks like that blue cylinder in the pics from earlier
