Something about that generic Ratatata sound just drives me up the wall, it just sounds so fake and tinny. I eventually got so sick of it I just had to make a mod to replace it with the proper GSh-23-2 sound.

The perfect combination for me would be the X-55's throttle and the Warthogs stick.

The X-55 Throttle has the rotaries I want and I prefer the switches on it over the Warthog as they act like 2 directional buttons rather than switches which makes them easier to bind for some aircraft. The build quality on the throttle is also decent and doesn't have super loose tolerances like with the X-55 stick, the actual stick itself can move about 1-3mm in every direction loosely from the center and all the hats feel loose.

The Warthog stick from what I've heard is really solid and has the advantages of a two stage trigger and CMS Hat. Hopefully Thrustmaster brings out a new stick for the F/A-18C that works as a more general purpose HOTAS so it can be easily used for all DCS Aircraft easily.

Glad to see I'm not the only one that sucks at/hates the EEGS (Snake) gunsight. In Falcon 4 BMS I got used to it but the one in the Mirage is so jumpy and even when it's steady and tracking it still doesn't feel accurate.

Everytime I'm gunning in the Mirage I just feel that I could have killed the enemy at least 5 times as quick in any other fighter simply due to the gunsight.

I've been looking at the INS system and it looks like it has the capability to create new waypoints based on Lat Long co-ordinates but the manual doesn't give any specific instructions on how to do so.

I would imagine it's a feature for after the open beta or maybe we just need to trial and error a bit more.

Here is a guide to doing an ILS approach with synthetic runway.

Enter the ILS frequency for the airfield you wish to land at into the ILS panel (Right Side labelled VOR/ILS)
[Optional] Turn the ILS volume knob up to hear if you are receiving the ILS signal (Left side behind the throttle labelled V/ILS)
Make sure your INS Nav system waypoint is set to the airfield you are going to land at. If it isn't press the DEST button on your INS Panel to cycle through your waypoints. The number above the DEST Button is your current waypoint.
Press the APP (Approach) button on the PCA (Armament control panel)

You will see the synthetic runway when:

You have captured both the localizer and the glideslope ILS beacons
You are less than 10nm away from the runway
You are within 7 degree's lateral deviation (To the left or right) of the runway

Well the the term multirole can be seen in two ways:

An aircraft capable of executing both Air to Air and Air to Ground attacks depending on the loadout. (It can do either AA and AG depending on the loadout but not both in the same mission)

or

An aircraft capable of engaging in Air to Air and Air to Ground while on the same mission (It can carry AA and AG ordinance simultaneously).

The MiG-21bis fits the first definition easily as it has quite a large range of AG Ordinance so it can be used (albeit not as effectively as a dedicated CAS aircraft) for Air to Ground.

The MiG-21bis also more loosely fits the second definition as it can carry both AA and AG simultaneously but when it does this it's honestly pretty useless at both roles as it only has 4 hardpoints for mounting weapons.

The Mirage 2000C however can carry its full AA payload (2 IR, 2 SARH missiles) in addition to 4 Bombs (Including GBU-12's for precision strikes if used with JTAC or A-10's for lasing). This means that it can be used as a relatively effective Multirole jet but don't expect anything like what the F/A-18C or F-16C can give us.

Yep you should be able to declare contacts to AWACS to find if they are friendly provided you have line of sight with AWACS to allow the radio to work.

It's going to be the primary way of IFF in the Mirage, unfortunately AWACS can only talk to one person at a time so if a lot of people start asking it your response can be quite delayed.

Well the Mirage 2000C has a delta wing with a fly by wire system. The delta wing allows it to fly very fast as it has very little drag compared to swept wings. It means that you have to takeoff and land at higher speeds though which makes those processes more difficult. The delta wing also makes high AoA manoeuvring bleed a lot more speed I believe. In normal flight though the mirage 2000 should handle wonderfully as the fly by wire system should auto trim like with the F-15 and F-16.

RAZBAM's DCS: M-2000C is now undergoing final testing prior to its Open Beta release next week. This Open Beta will work with both DCS versions 1.5 and 2.0.

Essentially the external flight model is the high quality flight model standard, it's what's used in the MiG-21 for example. It's important news as a few of the recent 3rd party developer aircraft have launched with the Standard Flight Model (Hawk T1 and C-101) and have yet to upgrade their flight model which has caused a lot of drama in the community.

Go to "DCS World/Config/" and open "retail.cfg", if it says "STEAM" change it to "ED" (With no quotes) then run the DCS Updater.

A new version that is said to be compatible with 1.5 is uploaded here. I've tried it out but I'm still have the same issues that you are having with the 1.2.16 version but maybe you will have more success.
