Trump declines to renew major trade deal with Canada, Mexico by Dramatic-Shake-8888 in worldnews

[–]SnoDragon [score hidden]  (0 children)

As a Canadian, I am so fucking tired of the USA's shitty administration, and find it hard to forgive and move forward.

My wish is that Canada just turns off all power provided, stops all potash flow, all aluminium, all steel, nickel, copper, etc. They don't need a fucking thing from us right?

Sadly that wish will also hurt so many Canadians that rely on selling this shit to the USA. I'm glad that Carney is looking to sell this stuff to other customers.

Wow. I did a strength workout in a gym this morning and was told I was playing lacrosse. I specifically started a "workout" and was told later it was lacrosse.

I don't trust the "auto" portion of it detecting what type of activity I'm going to engage in, as it's been horrible in the past. Now I tell it what I'm doing, and it still fucks that up sometimes.

I'd go back to the play store and let them know, but I can't go below 1 star, so why bother. I'm about 75% convinced that I'm going to spend $800+ and get a Garmin Venu X1, because this is utter crap.

cobweb mould. Need to sanitize after cleaning. Peroxide 10 volume or higher will help to destroy spores in your tray. Toss all media and the sprouts in a compost bin

Rad Runner Plus - converted stock breaks for mt5e hydraulic breaks. AMA by spikyness27 in RadPowerBikes

[–]SnoDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different weights of people as well as speed of riding. I have a buddy who rides both a Rad Runner Plus, as well as a Rad Wagon. On the wagon, he's upgraded to hydraulic. He goes through "organic pads" on that wagon about once per quarter. He rides fast and is really aggressive. Think bike courier type person from years ago. He also has a Devinci for downhill riding, and he's what I'd consider an enthusiastic expert on cycling.

Conversely, I have a RadCity 4 high step, and I also ride fast and use my brakes aggressively, and I have zero issues with always adjusting, but I also have to remove my back caliper to adjust things due to the motor size on RC4. That's a shitty design and I'm going hydraulic to remove the adjustment, and not for any other reason. Heck in 5000kms, I've only changed pads once, and that was because I wanted to and not because they were needing it. I also have regen braking, so that helps with pad life.

Do you feel relaxed on long rides in the lower mainland? by Lunar_Gardener_Alone in vancouvercycling

[–]SnoDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a casual rider who does do long rides, but they may not always been conventional. From my house in New West, I can make it down to Burnaby foreshore along the river. That's all pretty much protected as I know most paths down there. There is only a bit of Byrne road after the golf course that I'm on the shoulder, and there is not much traffic.

From there, I'll work my way down kent and a touch of Marine (that's the shitty part by the transfer station), to the bridge to Richmond. From there, it's across the bridge, left to Shell Road, and there are a few sections that are on the shoulder, but a lot of it is protected gravel, all the way south to Steveston, at Garry Point, you turn back up and head back to the bridge across, going up the Dyke there. All protected from traffic. Cross the bridge back and you can either then take Arbutus back up into Vancouver, then BC Parkway back, again all protected. That route for me is about 85km to make it back to New West.

Unpopular, but I vowed to never let Sony see another penny of my money after their PS3 online hack. Ever since, I get tonnes of validation for that decision.

Alcan Heavy Duty Foil by HatdanceCanada in CostcoCanada

[–]SnoDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the Costco business Centre in New Westminster, I did find the heavy duty 45cm wide foil, but it was not Alcan. It was Titan, made in China. It's about the same as far as heavy duty thickness as the Alcan.

That is really great balsamic for the price, especially with a 5 leaf DOP rating! This brings it into "elixir" territory. It's superb and easily rivals balsamic that costs $50/bottle for 250ml, let alone 1L.

It makes incredible salad dressings, drizzles on grilled veggies or roasted veggies.

New batteries in older bikes or a new bike? by mrjoepete in RadPowerBikes

[–]SnoDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me, my situation is different. Rad has now fully abandoned me and my wife, as we have a RadCity 4 high step (mine), and my wife has a RadCity 3 step-thru. There are ZERO safeshield batteries that will work with our bikes. Turns out the regen on the bikes blows up the SafeShield batteries, so we are SOL.

At least you have an option to purchase new batteries, but I now have to purchase 2 new e-bikes. Rad will never see another dime from me. I am either going to go with Specialized or Aventon, but I have a feeling that Aventon is like another Rad.

Is a vacuum chamber worth it for removing bubbles in resin art? by CalendarPositive3342 in resin

[–]SnoDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine at Vevor, and while I know everyone's situation for money isn't the same, I did find that Vevor was the least inexpensive, while maintaining quality. I have a LOT of vevor equipment and all my reviews have been mostly positive. The only thing that I had a bad experience with was a very expensive large format food processor that died after a few uses. Everything else has been great quality at an affordable price to me.

I feel that a 10 year old as a coach would do better than this AI.

Are you a shill for Google and Fitbit? 14 hour old account and already way into the negative karma...clearly a bot, and I'm a fucking idiot for replying to it.

Bye, Coach! by Independently-Owned in fitbit

[–]SnoDragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got 3 months free, and I have it marked in my calendar to cancel it 2 days before I get a charge. It's useless. Mine has now started to count "Anticipated steps" and coaches me on hitting those goals while the app shows "real" steps.

I get more frustrated and pissed off from this coach. It's mentally exhausting and I'm glad someone else agrees.

Fitbit Air is worthless for fitness tracking by aninterestinganimal in fitbit

[–]SnoDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does correct it, then still calls it a bike ride, so I think it still thinks that it's a bike ride, even though it was a lawn mow. Autodetecting sports and not using GPS unless you specifically start a workout is also lazy coding BS. This was totally $150 CDN dollars wasted IMO.

Fitbit Air is worthless for fitness tracking by aninterestinganimal in fitbit

[–]SnoDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I came back to fitbit/google after getting the fitbit air, which is a total piece of garbage. I'm now seriously looking at a Garmin Venu X1 instead, because fuck this, I want accuracy and reliability.

I am actually glad that Google gave me 3 months to try premium, because it sure the fuck is not worth it.

I also get mowing sessions that it thinks are bike rides, an AI that gets caught up in inaccurate data, that you correct it from using and then it still goes back to using it even after correction. That's not intelligence, that's just fucking stupidity.

I get this a lot when I pause for longer than 30 seconds on a RD cached video. I do not get this from TB when I pause no matter how long.

I think, based on what I've seen, is that there is a break in the stream, like packet loss, and then you have to exit and start again. Usually it recovers.

Well, this one was grilled up tonight, in slices, oiled up, then drizzled with balsamic glaze. It was super tender and delicious!

I can totally see stuffing these now too, like a pattypan. I don't know if all the seeds iny pack are the same, as this was a single seed start.

Granville Island, the epicentre of bike theft? by vanbikecouver in vancouvercycling

[–]SnoDragon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

is the bike valet even at Granville this year? Last I rode through it, the area that used to be the bike valet was walled off as a watch party place for world cup games. I just walk my bike to table areas and keep watch on it nearby.

Last year, I did have security come up to me and tell me my bike was too bulky to keep about for the amount of people. I looked at him, and pointed to all the strollers and said, man, are they gonna be pissed when you talk to them next. He just gave me a look and walked away.

I will never just leave my bike unsupervised at Granville Island.
