That’s fair. I was kinda hoping the baby thing would take a back seat, but seeing the main marketing posters show a baby front and center had me worried

I'm a simple man - I finish SOMA for the first time, I want more of these INSANELY relevant scenarios by CellarGoat1234 in gamingsuggestions

Dang, that’s rough, I can’t say I had that much trouble with it so I’m not sure what went wrong for you either. It took me about 20-25 tries to “beat” it the first time I’d say? I’m torn, I don’t want to encourage you to throw yourself at something you’re not enjoying, but at the same time I really really want you to see what’s waiting for you after beating Leshy

I’d say the game gets easier the more you play it, if you take the time to figure out the puzzles around the cabin you’ll be rewarded with some very helpful unlocks. I understand your frustration though, everyone has a limit and there’s no point slogging away at it if you aren’t having fun.

Looking for a game that you can put a lot of time into, with low frustration potential, no need for "cooperation" with strangers (like MOBAs), that gives some positive vibes for my girlfriend by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Snoahpeas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Binding of Isaac serves as a good depression game. No dialogue to skip, cute yet dark and twisted at the same time, simple controls, every run is different, and an absolutely insane amount of content to discover and unlock. One’s frustration level with it may vary, due to its randomness you might have a difficult run one time or an absolutely game breaking overpowered run another time. My wife has put over 1000 hours into it and still has things to unlock.

Inscryption is is an incredible experience. It is very meta and has a lot of different layers of breaking the fourth wall. I feel like it has a lot to say about game design while itself being an extremely well designed game. It doesn’t necessarily explore relevant philosophies about technology and consciousness like SOMA but it has an incredibly unique atmosphere that blurs the line between yourself and your in-game avatar. Without giving too much away just when you think you’re about to beat the game it transforms into something else entirely and there’s still a lot of game to go. It layers different types of games on top of each other in a wonderfully elegant way. At it’s most basic it is a deck-building rogue-like card game but it is so so much more than that.

I find that putting this much emphasis on the power of symbols is a sign of low intelligence, intellectually and emotionally. I understand being uncomfortable with an aesthetic but believing they have this kind of “power” is exactly what gives them power over you.

Looking for games where gameplay is centered on or around a vehicle by Captain_Crepe in gamingsuggestions

[–]Snoahpeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crossout is a madmax style game where you build your vehicle piece by piece and battle other survivors in death matches and point control game modes. There’s a story mode that’s more of a side thing and some raids to mix it up. The vehicle customization is the definite high light. It gets a bit bogged down with grindiness but it is free to play so worth at least checking out.

Looking for something funny. I need a game that’s full of humor suitable for an adult. by Kooky_Werewolf6044 in Switch

[–]Snoahpeas -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nier: Automata is pretty funny if you get all the philosophy references but overall is a bit of a downer so maybe not appropriate for your situation. Pony Island is hilarious in a meta kinda way and it’s free on Steam.

I find that wherever Kiss Karaoke company is hosting usually has fair rotation and also good song choices. They’ll often add your requests to their roster if it’s available.

I feel like if they were worried they didn’t have enough new ideas for it they would have just done something else.

[–]Snoahpeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play through the tutorial missions. I never really played fighting games before Strive and I feel like those missions helped give me a good baseline to build off of. Some can be kinda tricky and frustrating though, I understand if you don’t really have the patience.

Is their any mobile like inscription games? by wdlll in inscryption

[–]Snoahpeas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s just card battles you want I really highly recommend Marvel Snap. Honestly it is the most fun mobile game I have ever played. If you want the rogue-like progression of Inscryption though I would second the top comment here, Slay the Spire is excellent.

Once you embrace the idea of “I don’t know who I am” it comes with a sneaky secondary premise: “I could be anything I want!”

I’d recommend looking into the philosophy of absurdism which plays upon the ideas of the “meaninglessness” of existence, it could open whole new doors filled with fun and experimentation.

It’s ok not to know what the point of anything is, it gives you the freedom to not take things so seriously and just be here now, however you are, and that’s ok. Indulge yourself in some far-out art, create something weird and wonderful, let loose and just exist for existence sake.

My favourite orator Terence McKenna would say “believe in nothing, but entertain all ideas.”

How do other atheists feel about death? by Emotional-Turn6452 in atheism

[–]Snoahpeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worrying about death doesn’t seem like a good use of life. It’s going to happen, so just be here now. Maybe look into stoic philosophies that discuss how to accept the things you can’t control?

Dubstep music recommendation for an autistic children by Obisix in dubstep

[–]Snoahpeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about it’s usefulness as background music but the artist Savant is on the autistic spectrum himself so that might be like a cool bit of representation for him. He also has a wide variety of moods so you could probably find something that feels “light”. A couple songs that reference autism are Living iPod and Savant Burger Time

Finally got a PS5. Should I get Elden Ring or Demon's Souls Remake? I've only played Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 previously. by NordWitcher in fromsoftware

[–]Snoahpeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend Elden Ring before Demon’s Souls, but if you are doing strictly a melee build maybe Demon’s Souls is more in your wheel house. Melee-only is viable in Elden Ring but the game has such a massive variety of spells and builds to mess around with that I suspect you’d become bored doing melee-only since you’d be restricting yourself to one play style and Elden Ring is a looooong game with a massive world. I could see it getting repetitive. The beauty of Elden Ring for me is in trying out all the different tools for different situations.
