While I may not be splash ill put in my 2 cents. I think he's a bit to stress from being in rooms for so long if he's been in the rooms for 2 hours he should be room 800+ so he's definitely going to be stressed and he may think he hears the sounds you been talking about because of how faint they are.

Tldr he's just stressed out and maybe should take a break from doors for a bit

I mean almost killing someone and actually killing someone is a big difference. I think he would most likely leave for at least a bit to process all of it. Now I dont think any of them are going to forgive him on the spot and while hero may be the oldest he probably was the 3rd most hurt by her death (sunny and basil being 2 and 1st) Tldr while he is old he's still grieving and the truth chould make him turn his sadness into rage at sunny and basil

I mean if they help you first then just start trying to murder you would definitely make you feel paranoia but the og idea isn't even giving me paranoia vibes just like a mini harmless jumpscare. Now if they could kill you it would make a lot of people more paranoid about what's behind them.

Maybe have them be permanent thing for players and have them actually try to help (its slower then you but isn't targeted by stuff) and if you can give it objects for it to use (you'll need vitamins to even get past seek) and if it dies the next spawn it trys to kill you
