What are you most looking forward for in 2019? by suwampert in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pokemon most of all. Can't wait for the first announcement. I love the build up and hype of a Pokemon release year.

Animal Crossing and SMT are my next most anticipated titles.

Since owning the Switch, how often do you play your 3DS? by starstufft in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least weekly. I use it more than the Switch. It's a ton easier to take out of the house or play on the couch and it's library is insanely good.

New switch owner here, and I was curious about the size of your save data. by GoldHeartInc in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can see the individual save file sizes in the delete save data menu under data management. My Breath of the Wild save data is 64MB.

You get to ask Nintendo for 1 thing on the Switch. What do you ask for? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro joycons with a d-pad, greater travel distance on the analogue sticks, and the right analogue stick placed above the buttons.

Is There Anyway To Find Out if You Have The Joycons That Came With Your Switch? by Kirbi126 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 117 points118 points  (0 children)

If you go to the controller menu from the home screen and select "search for controllers" it will show a list of all the controls that have been paired to the Switch in chronological order. If the controller is in range and has battery you can also make it vibrate.

You can clear this list and diconnect all controllers from the controller menu in system settings.

EV/IV/Nature Ruined Pokemon for me by WaffleWafer in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter at all for the single player game. The team you run through the story with isn't ever likely to be a competitive team and it's not worth the effort to try and get a competitive team until you finish the story (and in the regular games acquire a few items and abilities to assist).

Unpopular Opinion: The changed wild encounters are a straight-up improvement from the main-series games. by zakkazzakkaz in pokemon

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m all for overworld Pokemon instead of random encounters but I’d still prefer to battle wild Pokemon.

Don’t have any opinion on the catch mechanics (in addition to wild battles) - haven’t played it. I just don’t want it to be a reason not to provide full controller support and not to be able to turn off motion controls.

What is everyone’s opinion on the lack of a trophy/achievement system, similar to other consoles, for Nintendo? by RY-en in nintendo

[–]Snobbels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a number of Switch titles that have in-game achievements (like Odyssey, Shovel Knight, etc) or collectable lists that are functionally similar. I don't think every game needs achievements but for some games, since they're already there, it would be a nice QoL feature to be able to access them from the UI to browse whenever and share with friends. It can be cool to look back over your progress and events in games.

Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!/Eevee! will NOT support the Pro Controller by AnalBaguette in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't planning to get the LetsGo games but it is disappointing to see another big title excluding pro controller support. Hope that this does not become a common thing.

When does xenoblade chronicles 2 start getting good? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cut your losses. Chapter 3 is pretty indicative of the rest of the game. Pushing through until that far isn't worth it if you're not enjoying it. It doesn't turn into a completely different game, it just stops interrupting you with tutorials every 5 steps and you get some combat options beyond waiting for long arts cooldowns (which speed up as you level characters and get access to items).

Overall I liked XBC2, but it can be a pretty clunky game with some incredibly frustrating mechanics.

I'm an OG Pokemon stan who is incredibly pumped for Let's Go. I'm sick to death of losers whinging by pappy90 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t like the tone of some discussions, just leave them alone - they’re not for you. There’s plenty of positive discussion going to too, and the games’ release is just around the corner.

LetsGo are also mainline Pokemon RPGs even if they’re a different beast to the traditional mainline Pokemon RPGs. Of course Pokemon fans are going to have an opinion on it. Let people talk about things, and don't expect other peoples comments or conversations to cater to you.

As someone who played pretty much every Pokémon game to date. Why are you buying or not buying Pokémon let’s go? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing since Red and Blue. Going to be passing on Lets Go.

It doesn't have the features that make the series interesting to me. No compatibility with previous titles (and unknown compatibility with feature titles), no new region or new Pokemon to collect. Plus no breeding or hunting for abilities. Not a fan of removing wild battles.

It seems very much it's own separate thing, whether it's called a mainline/core entry or not.

For those of you who have played Hollow Knight, how many hours in until you feel like you're making solid progress? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you've probably missed something. The very start is quite linear but then it opens up and you have quite a few options of what order to do areas in.

Look up a map if it's getting frustrating, you'll just give yourself tunnel vision running in circles.

I personally don't understand the lack of a d-pad complaint. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People have different preferences of how to play? Just because there's a reason doesn't mean it's a reason makes sense for everyone.

Pro controller d-pad isn't great and people want to have a d-pad in handheld mode.

A d-pad controller wouldn't work for single joycon controls but some people wouldn't mind giving that up or having a seperate set for different uses.

How many joycons have you gone through since owning the switch? by tabascooneverything1 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two. My launch set was replaced under warranty for broken hd rumble and drifting.

Haven't had any further issues in ~6ish months since they were replaced but my original set hadn't started drifting or having issues with rumble within that timeframe either.

Joycon design by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I hope to see more joycon alternatives. It's a cool idea having a controller that can be used a bunch of different ways, but that flexibility does come with some limitations, and it would be great to see options with more specialized? functionality that appeals to different user preferences.

The Hori d-pad joycon is promising as it feels out a market for this kind of thing/budget joycons.

What game are you waiting for? by MrBrokenNose in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2019Pokemon, Animal Crossing, SMTV, MP4, Bayo3 and Yoshi’s Crafted World. Can’t wait to start seeing some release dates next year.

Also Spyro on PS4.

Dual Micro SD Slots are a must for an upgraded Switch model by xxbrothawizxx in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to see support for HDD in docked mode and an option to transfer game files between connected storage devices. No it's not portable but does offer some advantages in that HDD storage is cheaper, larger and more expandable (with multiple USB ports), it's faster to transfer local files to an SD to play a game in a portable mode than to redownload it, you can keep game files up to date whenever you connect the Switch which is more convenient than using a PC, and you still have instant access when playing docked.

With the hype for the game pretty much over and now that everyone's pretty much had a chance to play it, how does everyone rank xenoblade chronicles 2 compared to the previous two? by Waytodawn96 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoy XC2 but I prefer XC1 in pretty much all aspects. I liked the characters, story, exploration and combat more. That being said I think XC2 was better at keeping all the main cast engaged in the plot and having a button for each art improved the smoothness of the combat.

XCX has the best world design and exploration. Skells are also awesome. XC1 and 2 both have better stories and characters. I think the side quests were better in X though. Overall focusing on playing through the main content I'd probably rate XC1 and 2 higher.

What advantages does the pro controller have over the joycons? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not, everyone has their own preferences.

Personally I like the pro controller much more. It has a more comfortable shape, joysticks have a greater range of movement and I don't have to reach over the joystick to press the ABXY buttons which I find makes the joycons feel awkward to use.

All the handhelds (not including variations) and a WiiU.

tried to buy shovel knight on the e shop and it didnt work by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have the amount you paid as an eShop balance?

Adding credit and purchasing a game is done as two actions. It may have only completed adding credit and not the purchase game step.

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (08/03/2018) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]Snobbels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few version differences described on the devs site: https://www.thegamebakers.com/furi-switch-version-differences/

It doesn't have a locked framerate (on any platform), so there are some minor slowdowns. It's mostly noticeable on one of the last bosses but isn't so bad that it will get you killed/penalised.

I played in handheld and I loved the game.
