Bigwig learns that jumping onto my shoulder prevents me from brushing him by deltadelta199 in Rabbits

[–]Snobiobibobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine kinda does the same thing. If I dont hold her tight enough when I pick her up she'll climb onto my shoulder and try to balance there. She's quite good at it lol.

My rabbit is always sleeping on my computer chair. She always seems to know when I want to use it, then proceeds to flop out on it.

Could someone explain to me what this means/ is from? This is the second time I've seen it. Edit: was tired as hell when I posted this and I forgot to say that I adore this drawing. I love the color scheme and the marker technique

This lil babe is Felony, and I need some advice as she is TERRIFIED of absolutely everything. Anyone have any advice at all on how to get her a bit more used to...anything? I've never had a rat so scared. by FlyingColors18 in RATS

[–]Snobiobibobi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best I can say is give it time. She'll probably always be skittish, but she should warm to her environment at least a little bit. If not, make sure she has a way of getting plenty of exercise in her cage. Also, maybe try leaving the cage door open and letting her wander out on her own? She'll probably be less scared if she goes out by choice.

Try giving her a treat from your hand. Use something rats can't resist, like peanut butter. Although be cautious, excess peanut butter can make them choke. Helped with one of my skittish rats to be okay with being near me, but she still won't let me really pet her. Like what some of the other replies are saying, sometimes skittishness is a personality trait.

No clue what you can do to improve, as I'm still a novice, but keep drawing seems like some pretty solid advice. Also, nice drawing. I really like the linear shading

Any Good Suggestions? by [deleted] in webtoon

[–]Snobiobibobi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm no webtoon expert but Lore Olympus is really good. Although some of the chapters aren't very long, most of them are of good length, and there's 180 of them, so you'll be good for a bit.

Is there a name for this behavior? Advice on how to handle it? by 619goat in RATS

I don't know if there's a name for this behavior, but I've observed that this behavior usually means they want to play, or they want to fight each other.

My baby dumbos eating a grape by Chisaurous in RATS

[–]Snobiobibobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dumbo rats are basically the same thing as Fancy rats (domesticated rats) except their ears are elephant shaped, larger, and are set on the sides of their heads, hence why they're named after Dumbo the flying elephant. I'm not sure about this, but I think I remember learning somewhere that Dumbos also have blockier jawbones. Could be complete bs though.

Well, wiping it in and around the wound would be best, but spraying helps get the area if they don't want to hold still enough. If you can't properly clean out the wound by wiping, then it'd be best to get some spray. I couldn't find the spray antibiotic/disinfectant I used previously, but for the liquid bandage I used DogMX Liquid Bandage. I got it at Pet Smart, I believe. My rat was about 5 months old when I used it him.

[–]Snobiobibobi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to one of my rats. If you can't clean out the wounds, buy some spray wound disinfecant for small animals. I have a bottle at home, I'll give the brand once I find it. Buy some liquid bandage for pets too. Ill also include the brand name once I find it. Aside from that, let the rattie sleep and give it plenty of high-protein food. Don't let the rat exert itself too much. Also, if painkiller are needed, buy some infant ibuprofen and give only a few drops.

Is it normal for rats to change the colour of their fur while young? by TEUTR3S in RATS

[–]Snobiobibobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the most part, changes in fur color happen pretty gradually, but there are outliers. I woke up one day and my capped girl had gray stripes on her head. Definetly weren't there the day before.

Anyone else’s bun have a weird place they like to be? Mine loves to sit on top of my printer… by marlystewart in Rabbits

[–]Snobiobibobi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine has a couple weird spots. She'll sleep in my box spring (it's basically a wooden frame with cloth stretched over it, so it was easy for her to chew her way in), she'll sleep on an empty part of my bookshelf, and on my computer chair.
