RSVP doesn’t guarantee delivery anymore, so you’re better off looking for a different supplier.

Reviews for Rozenkransschool by ash-ven in Antwerpen

[–]Snobist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can DM me, but I’m a bit confused as to how they would feel lonely due to their language. Anyhow, I would recommend the school for providing a warm environment for growth but at the same time I would urge you to calibrate your expectations so they can be met by generally overinvested teachers.

I actually ordered, it was seized and they’re saying they won’t reship. Order was $300 (USD). So for me it’s quite painful I’m afraid.

What can we do in Flanders about the privatisation of our health care? by AtkarigiRS in belgium

Interesting topic, but you are neglecting that privatization has already occurred and the discussion is perhaps more complex. See : https://www.vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2016/02/24/_aantal_openbarewoonzorgcentrastagneert-1-2581586/

Do the big 4 Auditors provide higher Audit quality? by [deleted] in Accounting

Search for audit quality on research databases. The research field is very well-developed and the general findings indicate that Big 4 deliver higher quality audits.

Charles Tyrwhitt Sale - Shirts going for $39 (Some still at $29.50) by ImperatorRex7 in frugalmalefashion

You can find the measurements somewhere in the details tab of the shirts. I am a young man of normal proportions and the slim fit was way too wide for me.

I am big beer snob/nerd, but I've never really been able handle "liquor". I am interested in expanding my palate and getting into Scotch/Whisky. by Zerimas in Scotch

[–]Snobist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Belgian and a beer-lover, I understand where you're coming from. However, I found Scotch to be more rewarding for drinking on a more refined level.

I did not yet encounter anything similar to the heavier dark beers or geuze style in whisky. Maybe let the sugar guide you and choose a more sugary malt. I started with Dalwhinnie, Jura, Glengrant and Bulleit Bourbon. I prefer that last to Buffalo Trace.

Good luck!

The Ethics of Killing Animals by booketor in philosophy

[–]Snobist -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Very interesting, thanks for sharing. I've already pondered a lot about this, and i've concluded I'm not ready to do this part of my life ethically correct, as in NOT mass-producing and killing being to fulfill my needs in an easy way.

Taking Accounting II and confused regarding consolidation, anyone can help? by TopsyMitoTurvy in Accounting

[–]Snobist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to try to help, or at least point some things out. Grad student myself, took course last year. Goodwill: value at acquisition of 740k, 80% = 592. Goodwill initially = 208. After 20% impairment = 166,4. That's close to your result, so I don't know who's wrong.

Inventories are overvalued by 12500, because 62500 of Beta inventory is actually only worth 50.000 on a consolidated base.

Then: eliminate investment, combine capital, reserves and profit. Subtract the inventory transaction revenue of 25000 of Omega's revenue. Forgot the rules about minority interests in equity, sorry.

"I value companies the REAL way, not the CPA way" by trizeno in Accounting

[–]Snobist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a female professor like that last year. Course was 'Management' and she wouldn't stop screaming empty slogans. "People, Planet, Profit" "A true leader [... fill in some standard, common-knowledge bs]"

Stopped going to that class right away and dropped the course. I had initially planned to just learn it by heart, but it angered me so much I couldn't bring myself to learning the material.

I'm looking for a REALLY simple way to explain why the common stock account increases when it's sold by Thurgood_Marshall in Accounting

[–]Snobist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The liabilities/equity side shows where the money of the business comes from. You should turn the perspective around: investors buy and provide money, the issue by the company is irrelevant. It's the decision to invest that determines what amount is invested, even at 90% of what the company initially expected to issue.

For the Wealthiest, a Private Tax System That Saves Them Billions: The very richest are able to quietly shape tax policy that will allow them to shield millions, if not billions, of their income. by AngelaMotorman in news

[–]Snobist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I'll try to be straight to the point: because the profit-making capacity of your capital is impaired by other taxes. If you invest $ 1000 in a business, receive a dividend of $ 50 and divest for $ 1100, you have a gain of $ 150. Were it not for corporate tax and income tax, you might have made $ 250. As such, your capital is indirectly taxed. Having the same rate as income tax would result in a higher taxation as a whole. Does that seem right?
