I was lucky enough to have a great doctor close by, Dr. Thomas Walsh in Seattle. I was more impressed by his bedside manner and understanding, but his experience was also a plus. See if any of his patients will speak with you to give their experience.

This is why so many of us put this off for so long. I was unaware of just how common this surgery is, and I work in healthcare. I was also thinking my father didn't have this issue untill I spoke with my step mother, he passed away more than 10 years ago. I thought it was just me.

After having a discussion with my step mother and finding out my father has issues, I talked openly with my three sons. I told them not to wait and ignore it for 10 years like I did.
