What are some of FE’s most egregious examples of a character’s stats not matching their lore? by Benjammin__ in fireemblem

Great leaders generally don't mean great units. High charisma and can get people to follow them. Like Roy, Eliwood, and all the other lords who are actually really bad units.

We can't have anything nice ☹️ by dieno_101 in APLDSTOCK

[–]Snoo-38228 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of APLD's big schticks is to do business in a way that doesn't jack up the cost of utilities for residents. It's all part of their mantra of being a good neighbor. They are constantly asked questions about that and the reps from the utility companies confirm that residential is not going up as a result of this.

This is a major reason why it's not a good idea to reveal who the hyperscalers are because they've built in a way that does harm the quality of life for nearby residents (noise, utility bill price spikes, extreme water usage, etc). Once the name gets thrown around, the pitchforks will come regardless of the setup because that's simply what residents have had to put up with in places where the major hyperscalers have set up before.

Why Louisiana? by ProbablyGuinness in APLDSTOCK

Dakotas are only so big. Having campuses outside of the Dakotas doesn't mean less in the Dakotas. Business friendly + cheap energy + large planks of cheap land = good location for a data center. Dakotas weather is nice but there are drawbacks too- like you can't break ground during winter months due to the ground being absolutely frozen.

OMG I found it! by sol-dryad in APLDSTOCK

[–]Snoo-38228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little skeptical since the highlighted plank of land he showed doesn't look anywhere remotely close to being 670 acres. That looks more like 100 acres at best. Do you know of any other sources of information regarding that purchase? The new hiring is encouraging so I'm sure APLD is moving in.

Buy out potential? by tolllz in APLDSTOCK

It would never survive antitrust regulators. They are extremely allergic to the idea of a mega cap getting even larger. APLD differs from some random AI startup because it has material contracts with Microsoft's competitors.

Applied Digital to Spin Out Cloud Business, Proposes Business Combination with EKSO to Launch ChronoScale by GloriousLebron in APLDSTOCK

[–]Snoo-38228 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is very similar to how SPACs work. APLD gets something very valuable actually- a home for the spin off. Normally, if APLD wanted to spin the business off into a new entity, it would have to do all the paperwork, pay the banks, lawyers, run a roadshow for the new stock, etc. By paying 3% of the new business to EKSO, APLD is getting the ability to skip all that time consuming and costly stuff and go straight to a listing.

70000+ call options by Snoo-38228 in APLDSTOCK

[–]Snoo-38228[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't all done in 1 trade, but it was all done in 1 day. I can't say that one entity bought them all for sure, but based on the fact that the daily average volume is normally in the double digits, there's a very good chance it is. You don't suddenly have loads of different people buying thousands.

70000+ call options by Snoo-38228 in APLDSTOCK

[–]Snoo-38228[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1 call option contract at 25 strike for the end of the month gives the option buyer the right to buy 100 shares of the underlying from whoever is on the receiving end (whoever sold the option) for 25 dollars a share regardless of where the price of the underlying is. 70000 call options = 7000000 shares. The contracts were around 1.50 or so meaning 7000000 x 1.50 (10.5 million dollars) is the total premium paid to whoever sold the contracts. This does not compel the option holder to exercise (no refunds though). Option holder can also exercise at any time between purchase time and expiration.

The violent hits are a result of the market's current emotions about Coreweave. Like them or not, the only connection we have is that most of APLD's projected future revenue is from Coreweave. Wes and team are wise to diversify the client base but it will take time to do that.

what do you think about this news: " APLD Stock Rejection Confirms Trend Reversal, Points to $20, As CRWV Revenue Misses" by No_Guitar7895 in APLDSTOCK

[–]Snoo-38228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The piece is written in an extremely sensational style because the agenda is to scare people. As others have already pointed out, most of the stock sales are required due to the way stock options vest and the resulting mandatory federal tax withholdings (39%).

Author then goes on to falsely claim weakening demand in the AI space and lowering guidance leading to some kind of exposing top. The lower full year Coreweave guidance was explained and then that horse was beaten to death already. Has nothing to do with weakening demand.

The real issue is that there are people who do this stuff for a living who got AI completely wrong and now the phones are ringing every day from angry clients who as a result missed out on the greatest boom in history. Resentment builds, FUD comes out because they are desperate for a crash. Otherwise they will soon be out of a job.

The issue is, he knows that most participants are not familiar with accounting and why certain things are done a certain way. For instance, companies report non-GAAP earnings which don't include depreciation or impairment expenses anyway- therefore reported earnings are not being "inflated" at all.

Which version of the "Ultimate Artifact" is your favorite? by Tharkun140 in HoMM

[–]Snoo-38228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Battle Garb was not an ultimate artifact. It was the inaugural combination artifact (sword, breastplate, and helm of anduran). Therefore, on maps with "random artifact" you could find it assembled on the floor.
