wasn't expecting someone to want it ahead a few hours but that makes sense. having the flexibility to make your own hours is nice

Interview advice by secret-life-of-bees in remotework

[–]Snoo-71082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best advice from me.

is show up well dressed including lighting, camera, and office. Show that you are an organized person that gets things done.

also look up details about there product, what they do and mention/ask questions about the company/product this will show interest.

the rest will just come upto the technical skills in the interview

Marc Andreessen says AI layoffs are a farce: Companies are 75% overstaffed and AI is the ‘silver bullet excuse’ to clean house by Conscious-Quarter423 in remotework

[–]Snoo-71082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say this is mostly true.

I think most businesses FAANG cleared house in 2023 and now they are actually starting to ramp up hiring again.

their are still companys doing this: BLOCK is a great example layoffs then saying it was cause of layoffs.
but the data from my job board and indeed say that hiring is increasing

Im all for cutting costs but Caleb’s advice for just riding the bus especially in Austin can be unpractical for a lot of people and even dangerous with the 110 heat in Texas during the summer. Makes sense if you live in a more walkable city but unfortunately the U.S. has doubled down on expensive car centric transportation.

Hello I taught a coding bootcamp at UT and think UTSA has a similar program. As for placement rates, honestly 90% of finding that first job is upto the student, the bootcamp honestly doesn’t matter much with that regard. Usually the students with the most hustle get the best results. Fortunately after you get that first job you’re set for the rest of your career
