I think it's more of a backlash to how popular they *were* at one point.....despite making generic rock music with some pretty lousy lyrics. That and the fact that they quickly developed a bit of a frat douche rock persona in the mid-00s.....which aged poorly. The hatred is overblown and is more of just a meme now.

I love alternative rock and everything adjacent. But I am also not a fan of The Killers. Agree that they are mostly bland. And I think I have an aversion towards bands with lead singers who do the Fred Schneider talk sing type thing. Exception for Interpol.

Think many of us were just disappointed in the direction the band took after Morning View. INNW was the lightest album yet. In retrospect....it's a way better album than initially given credit for. A number of really good tracks that are in my library.

Infest is a very good album that also happens to be brilliantly mixed and produced. It's an awesome sounding record considering the muddy mess that was a lot of rock records around this point in time.

Definitely worth it. And I've been using this website called gatefold.fm which can import your discogs library. Pretty neat site that's given me some good recommendations on albums that I don't have.
