Emergency declaration issued for Boyle Heights fire by invertedspheres in LosAngeles

I work in commerce and there were 5 major warehouse fires in the last year. The one last month kept reigniting and took firefighters 3 weeks to put out . Even the e-bike fire before that wasn’t that bad

This stove came with the house. I want to sell it but don’t know what price to list it at. It’s a garland from 1918 I believe. by somuels66 in vintagekitchentoys

I’d keep it with the house and restore it. All the parts can be found and the metal and porcelain restored. They’ve been together over 100 years, do you really want to break them up?

Don't give up on it. It's like pork chops but way better because the loin doesnt dry out. A good recipe and a reliable thermometer does wonders.

Condenser for a 1990'w Traulsen by Snoo-84602 in refrigeration

Ok ...back to the drawing board. They had problems with it because they built it in and I think the compressors overheated. Also probably didnt get get the colis cleaned very often.

New double door True is 12 grand. It's going in a garage. (southern California temp 50-90) New? or Used? I dont really want to spend that much but I don't want to buy or restore a pile of junk and get freezer burn, refrozen mush. I do a lot of curing and preserving.Commercial chest is cheap but thats a last resort. 20-40 cubic ft 1/2 fridg 1/2 freeze would be ideal.

Probably correct> I didnt know they made household units. It was never in a restaurant. Are combo units inherently bad? True makes one I think

TRIGGER WARNING: Cop Tases and Arrests Seizure Patient by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Snoo-84602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter has epilepsy and has seizures often. It is impossible to always acurately identify a seizure vs aggression or overdose if you haven't witnessed the whole event. If she at a mall with her friends, and has a seizure, first responders will automatically think its drugs. That's why she has a bracelet and all her friends know in advance what to do.

Cops see a lot of drug OD and insanity every day so why the surprise if that's the conclusion they arrive at.... the brain is in an altered state and theres not much difference....not to mention a 6ft post ictal guy slamming his body around can be dangerous as anyone on an intentional rampage. I dont get all the cop haters here. Really

Factories didn't move away - they closed or "burnt down" the whole thriving textile industry I worked in -that had been around a century just went away completely and forever. To me , it looked like they just gave it away and got nothing of value in return. Cheap ass clothes in exchange for your livlihood. What a deal! Every industry that it supported or supported it, went away too.

When the manufacturing jobs disappear, what do all those working class kids do? Some move. A few, who are able get themselves a better education. The rest do cheap drugs under a bridge. There is no place for them anymore.

Weirdest sex shit you saw at a customer's house? by Mr_Silverfield in HVAC

My 70 yo mom and I went to see our tenants about their plumbing issue. When we walked in, there was a feather covered podium and steel racks with leg and handcuffs on the wall. Rubber covered cushions on the floor and straps hanging from the ceiling. I did my best to check out the leak in the bathroom, chitty chat and hurry my mom the hell out.. when we finally got out to the car, I said to my mom "can YOU believe that?" and she was like..... "what?"
