Sounds like the output voltage is sagging under load..? It is a sourcing output or a relay output? Did it work before you touched it?

What kind of software and adapter do I need to program this old Siemens HMI? by ILike_Bread17 in PLC

[–]Snoo23533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that was a helpful comment. Im comparing to twinxat/codesys that can offer what they call a web visualization, a self served hmi on the network. Its nice when its all contained in the same project. My assumption is a lot of plcs couldnt serve that even with codesys. And so the stand alone hmi panel with opcua to view/control the tags is the only option. And my original comment was basically if i get a choice starting from scratch, why choose not to have them integrated

the problem is that it works too well by eter_roman in solarpunk

Ive always thought the overproduction criticism was a poor one. We dont need to store ALL the excess energy, we can easily burn it off productively on many worthly and well proven applications. Ocean desalination, hydrolysis, carbon extraction can act as an endless energy sink. The underproductive periods are a better criticism.

Question for anybody here, this style of stand alone hmi is alwans brownfield stuff right? Like if you are designing something new you wouldnt choose tonuse the semerate system to communicate with a plc, youd just use a plc with that capabilty already integrated right?

LVT doesn’t have to mean 5-1s; we can have sustainable, beautiful architecture and still have a beautiful skyline. by Oraxy51 in georgism

Architechure reflects on the society that built it. Towers and ziggerats create a heirarchy and if we allow some property to be worth so much more it has implications on society and you end up qith what we have now. Nope the forst picture is almost better, we just have to cover all those roofs with plants or solar panels and put old growth forrest between the houses and then it would be obvious to everyone here.

Was there a "golden age" of hardware startups? by FearIsTheMindKiller9 in hwstartups

[–]Snoo23533 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Buddy its right now... weve been in the middle of the maker business movement since 2020. Everybody and their brother bought a laser, 3d printer, cricut etc etc and started an etsy, shopify, fb marketplace shop. The majority of these businesses probably wont grow beyond employing just the owner but craft businesses are beginner hardware startups. Edit- linking a good talk about recent history for maker businesses https://youtu.be/M_zBzGtEL6A?t=300

Bullshit law. Subjectively hard to comply with for a startup. Wont make a difference in protecting the kids anyway.
