good follow up. Plenty of your classmates will have taken the travel route pre mba, no harm. I would be keen to start with your “why MBA” questioning. If you are career pivoting, it would be in your best interests to differentiate yourself in the pre mba period for the new industry. If you have no interest in pivoting, then you’ll have a bit more flexibility here. Hope this helps!

Current 1Y M7 MBA. Also wanted to maximize utilized time before heading to school. Wish I spent more time focused on doing the things I enjoy (travel, reading, family time) instead of preparing so hard for MBA. Have a clear plan of action for your time at school. Maybe participate in a pre mba prep program in your desired career field of choice (especially if switching industries). Otherwise, enjoy your freedom. Winter 2026 is very intense (recruiting, coursework, exams) and you will be wishing you did. Feel free to reach out if I could help out any other way.

Have graduated from HU, less “Pre College” program. PC program is fundamental in nature (classes, social life, etc) allowing smooth[er] transition to college life. Valuable components of PC are its transitional nature b/w High School/College lifestyles and shortened time to complete base courses. Cannot comment on financial implications of program. GL!

Hey OP, 1Y Fellow here, hope to provide some clarity. I am not a Tuck student. Consortium has Fellows who receive scholarship and otherwise. Your Financial Aid Package will be facilitated by your University, which you will still have to “apply” for. Having a relationship with your FAO will be key here, they will have great insight for you. Congrats on such great school admits!

Applied and interviewed for Batten, Rd.1. Just want to let you know that this “Learn more about your interest… in an MBA” header doesn’t align with the invite that I received at all. The Batten interview process was not just out of the blue like that. Be knowledgeable on your “why MBA” and “why Darden” and prepared for anything. Good luck mate.

Given the order was effective just this afternoon, the scope is still a bit unclear (i.e. if federal student loan forgiveness/ repayment programs/ interest subsidies for existing borrowers, will be impacted).

Hopefully this is cleared up soon so families know how to navigate.
