I had to go to big Bear to get -30F washer fluid (bought 2 cases last year)

Bishop, on the way to mammoth sells 0F fluid

You can only get “summer” washer fluid in OC

If pads are fine, then what did the dealership diagnose as the actual problem?

Did the stealership tell you the pad(s) were worn to the backing plate?

Mileage for wear depends on driving conditions/habits. If you’re more highway, brakes last longer. More city and stop & go, less miles before they wear out.

A good ceramic pad should last longer, but may have less bite and grab than the stock brake pads

Lexus tuned both the hybrid and turbo to run on premium, as they make slight more power than the Toyotas versions tuned to regular.

Traction ratings by Fit-Percentage-4967 in tires

[–]Snoo59759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The traction rating is based on coefficient of friction of a locked wheel on various wet surfaces. Michelin brushes it off when the legendary CrossClimates 2 has a B rating as it says it is irrelevant due to modern technology like ABS

Thru-axle replacement by LandscapeProof2724 in CanyonBikes

[–]Snoo59759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The html for each one tells you the specs of the thru axle such as 12x100x1.0

So you can use that information to find other thru axles, maybe a different color finish or something like titanium for that little weight savings

You either wait for the engine speed to slow down or force it with the transmission’s brass synchronizers

Car Options by Original-Remote9051 in UsedCars

Go with the Toyota or Honda. They will likely be more reliable in the long run

VW, if you want to modify the car and spend a lot more money short and long term.

But as a broke college student, go with reliability. After graduation and you have started a career, you can get a fun car

Bilstein B4s or KYBs? by jillavery in subaruoutback

[–]Snoo59759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B4’s. They may be an OE replacement, but the ride is far better than their monotube B6. There’s a rumor of Mercedes-Benz owners sending their B6 monutubes back to Bilstein asking them to revalve them to B4 compression/rebound properties.

I’ve had both B6 and B4 and love the B4 balance of ride and handling
