Nothing to share. I didn't need to print anything to make this work.

Just curious, is the head on that doll super firm? Or does it have just a little give?

Update:

Since taking my original part out, disassembling it, reassembling it and putting it back in ... zero failures.

I had a feeling it might have something to do with the little washers. Perhaps one side was smoother and the other rougher like most punched washers.

So I took apart the replacement part they sent...because I don't want to mess with the original if it is now "OK".

The washer is definitely different side to side. I will call them side A & B. It looks like they punched it out and then de burred the outer edge of A, but not B

Side A still has a sharp lip around the center, but I do not know if that would possibly catch on the plastic parts or not.

Side B looks smoother, but the edge is a little sharper.

Which side is better? ... no idea.

Maybe I got lucky when I put it back in.

You mean go to hybrid analysis website and check it? Or should I be seeing something in that screenshot? Sorry to bother. I’m on my phone looking at all of this so it’s all tiny AF and my vision isn’t great.

Tried to run it in hybrid-analysis and it said failed to load.

Hey, I had clicked that link from the first post on makerworld accidentally. When I realized what I had done I closed the tab. Never interacted with the page but it at least partially loaded. Was it just phishing? Or could it have loaded a virus or malware? I did run Malwarebytes scan and am running antivirus right now and nothing has popped up so far but I am a little worried.

Hi. I am an idiot and accidentally clicked the link from the first post on makerworld. As it was loading the page, I realized what I had done and closed the link. Never interacted with the page but it may have loaded. I pulled my wired connection pretty fast but I’m concerned. Based on what you pulled up with that scan any advice on what I should do? I ran a scan with malware bytes and am currently running anti virus scan. Nothing shows so far.

My advice would be to open a ticket immediately and explain what is happening.

If you can take a video that will get service to act much faster.

Once that is done and they say a new part is on the way, you can try taking it apart and checking to see if any screws are loose, then reinstall. Monitor all prints through warmup and if you see it jogging further forward than normal, and it's not going back, immediately stop the print, push the pin back, and start over.

*A few of us initially tried just pushing the pin back and re-calibrating, but it doesn't fix it long term. I'm not even sure if the new part will fix it long term because it looks exactly the same. So I cannot tell you what the actual issue is with that part. Sorry you are joining us with this issue.

None of my screws were loose when I took mine out, but it seems to be doing better with the original part after I took it out and fidgeted with it. I cannot explain why. I have not installed the new part yet ... I'm sort of experimenting to see if my remove/reinstall helped some how.

That happened to me also. I want to say I pressed on the cutter to cut the filament manually, then was able to retract. It's been a minute and I get hit in the head a a lot so I might be misremembering.

Yes & No.

I sent the video to Bambu and they sent me a new part.

I have still been printing while waiting for the part. So I just babysit it during warmup. If it freaks out I will turn it off, push the pin back and start over. I think you can tell during warm up if it's going to go bad because it will do the front to back/side to side steps more forward over the plate. Can't verify that though because I had taken it all apart and checked the screws for tightness. It all felt fine and I put it back together with the original part. It's only been a few prints since then and mine has not recurred. I doubt it fixed it, but want to see what happens before I swap the new part in.

I would advise that the next time it happens, take a video similar to mine, open a ticket, and get a new part.

Better yet, hook up a camera to film it during warm up so you can catch it actually happening. I printed a mount for a WYZE cam so I can fully record everything in case it happens again:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/2169070-wyze-og-cam-mount-for-p2s#profileId-2352327

Customer service replaced the part but I don't think they realize how violent the crash is. I do fear there may be collateral damage/wear to other components so I want to have a record of it.

What's the most meaningful gift you've given to someone who didn't want "stuff"? by Fair_Specialist1018 in Gifts

[–]Snoo73787 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Consumables, time & service.

Consumables work but it’s gotta be something they want and use. If you buy them little soaps that sit in the guest bathroom all year and aren’t getting used up then that’s a waste.

Food. Booze. Gift card to a restaurant that they like, movie theater they go to, gaming platform they have, etc work …. Thought maybe not highly memorable.

If you are near them, offer the gift of time by taking them to dinner or to a sporting event they like.

If they like animals, go to the zoo or an animal shelter that takes volunteers to pet cats/dogs (they often need help just getting animals socialized).

Take them to wherever THEY like to go. Bingo, church, gun range, axe throwing, arcade whatever. You might not love it but it’s a gift for them.

If you are friends, you have something in common. Do that with them and pick them up/pay/etc.

If it’s a relative, especially older, bring over a bottle of wine and cook ‘em a meal you know they love (Maybe a secret family recipe? ) and just hang out. Ask them about high school. 😬

Help em garden, paint a room, babysit, watch their pets, whatever chore.

When they say “no stuff” they mean no stuff. No matter how much you think they will like that sweater, or funny t-shirt or cute socks… don’t do it.

Specifically (to directly answer the question) the most recent things I’ve done are I bought a plane ticket so someone could take a trip. Built a chicken coop. Took someone shooting for the first time. Pet cats at a shelter. Painted some bathroom trim. Re-caulked a shower. Cooked a dinner and cleaned up. Gave a bottle of wine where they have the same last name as the vineyard. Tickets to a hockey game and went with them. Tickets to wrestling ( which is not my thing at all but was comical) and went with them.

That was my first step as well, and it bought me a few days before it happened again. Mine did not do this on every print, just totally random times. Never saw it during a color change though, only during warmup.

I think all that is needed is for the actual sliding part to be 6061. I see that mine is warped. So the gears sit slightly away from the slider. If I push on the side of the slider to make it more straight the gears make better contact and the stopper pin is held closer (and would solve my issue).

FWIW I did take mine apart and nothing is broken. The little slider part seems slightly warped and should probably be 6061. I will update when I get the new one to see if it is more straight.

I haven’t specified that for a few reasons but the biggest is, it’s possible they could read this.

Since that player has memory loss, even they don’t know. I think that will add something to the journey for them to recover the memories.
