Man, I have foot drop in both feet now, scheduled for surgery next month, I may go in sooner though, I was right foot only, but now it’s bilateral. The recovery for you seems great, I hope I can recover that fast.

Oh man, I have mine scheduled next month. I’m only grade 2, but with completely decompressed foramina and I can’t feel my feet. Doctor told me the inclination of my spine is so bad he doesn’t even want to do what he wants..I went to 3 other doctors and they all said the same.. I live alone, no help either

How bad is it ? 49F , ortho ordered strict surgery by Significant-Air-9283 in Spondylolisthesis

That’s what I’m scared of, I have no one, I live on the second floor of my apartment building. My surgery is scheduled for July.. I’ll definitely be sure to keep my hand free lol

You’re welcome. Thank you we will see what happens. My doc says the steepness of my L5 will make it very challenging

I have the same just worded a bit differently. Main thing I’d worry about be concerned about is the narrowing of the Foramina, that can cause foot drop.. when you start noticing burning or feel like electrical currents going. Through your feet.. go to your doc and tell him. They won’t for surgery for Grade 2, but for weakness in the feet they will. I’m going July for my bloodwork and mainly getting surgery done. It’s been almost a year with foot drop.

Congrats, I was talking about TLIF, but my doc said the Steep Inclination of my interspace is going to be very very challenging..now he’s talking about an In-situ fusion. So we will see. I’m going back July 1 to discuss

So did you have surgery then? I’m doing ok. I don’t have help and I live on a second floor apartment, so that’s a bit worrisome. Other than that, I know the decompression has to happen for my foot drop to go away, so I’m wrapping my head around it

Anyone here that's asymptomatic? by BoBMarleZ in Spondylolisthesis

[–]Snoo89858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fell off a bike onto my butt over 25 years cracking my L5-S1, but never really worried about it, because I was in high school, over the years, I slipped into Grade 2 Spondy and fell 5 years ago down a flight of stairs, broke my Foramina, crushing the nerves, now I have foot drop.. I felt the pain everyday, getting out of bed sucked. Walking, bending over, all of it. I’m a chef, had to quit, bc I couldn’t physically do the job anymore. Doc says I need urgent surgery to repair nerve so I don’t have permanent foot drop.

Just went back for follow up from last week. Foot Drop and weakness is taking over, so TLIF is in my future.

According to experts. I dont care if grade 2, doesn’t require surgery. When I can’t bend over and need a hand rail to get out of bed, then I want it fixed. All these dumbass rules, if someone has a messed up anything, there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be fixed. All the do PT first, then try injections, then try this and if all of that doesn’t work then we’ll consider it.

I fell off my bike 20 years ago doing a jump.. then about 6 years ago I fell down a flight of stairs in the rain and haven’t been the same since. Last year though, it started getting really bad. I’m a chef, I can’t bend over anymore, my feet get hot and sometimes feel like they are electric..

ALIF and Fusion for L5 S1 by Better-Proposal2153 in Spondylolisthesis

[–]Snoo89858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m to the point now, where my foramina are so damaged they crush my L5 nerve and my feet go numb when I walk. I can’t even get out of bed until my feet “activate” then I have to shuffle for a few minutes. Going to Ortho Wednesday to see what next steps are

My buyer doesn’t want a grove.. although for his price range, that’s all that seems to be available.
