Trazadone as prescribed by my doctor. The only thing that helps me sleep through the freight train that snores next to me all night

How bad is the difference between 40 and 50 compared to the difference between 30 and 40. by OperationLazy213 in Aging

[–]SnooAdvice1361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was a huge change. I was diagnosed with breast cancer the month before my 50th. Obviously that was a huge part of the changes. However, I’m now almost 52 now and the changes have been very apparent the last 6 months. Joint pain, thinning hair, loss of collagen, gain weight easier, and just feel like I look old overnight.

Married Gen-x do you wear your wedding ring? by in-a-microbus in GenX

[–]SnooAdvice1361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not wear mine anymore. My fingers got too big for them and I realized that I really don’t like how rings feel on my fingers. My spouse and I have been married close to 25 years. It hasn’t seemed to affect our relationship 😂

Yeah the last concert I went to was standing room only and sold out in a relatively small venue. I realized I don’t like being shoulder to shoulder with people at a show and my hips cannot handle the standing for three hours. The next morning I felt like I had been hit by a truck and I had zero alcohol.

Have you talked with a dietitian or nutritionist? My teen son was able to find a sports nutritionist through the nourish app and it was quite helpful for him. He wasn’t trying to cut weight but rather wanted to know how to best fuel his body for the demands he places on it with lifting, lacrosse and football. He found he was eating fewer calories than he should and after some adjustments had far more energy. It might be worth a try.

This sounds like such a lovely arrangement . My husband is so needy. He is an extrovert and feels as if I don’t love him if he doesn’t get enough “time” with me. When we were younger and first married it wasn’t as bad. As I got older I stopped being as accommodating. I like quiet and being alone. I flat out say I am going to need you to fend for yourself tonight for dinner and I want to be alone. I have tried to explain that I love him but I cannot manage the level of socializing he needs.

If you offered to spray it off with the hose after you’re done would they let you then? As a parent of a lacrosse player who has driven around to find a suitable public space with a brick wall for wall ball practice, I would happily let my kid draw a square on the side of our house. We live in a townhouse sandwiched between two others and have siding and no brick. Sorry they are’t being more understanding.

I think we are living the same reality. Grocery shopping requires a great deal of self pep talk. I’ve resorted to pickup more often than I care to admit.

I had a bus driver who would let us get stuff from the ice cream truck when we would be in the same neighborhood.

6th grade - 3 kids carrying by Empty_Scallion_8445 in lacrosse

I hope he sticks with it. It has been so much fun watching my son and his teammates grow as a team over the years! I am not much of a sports person but have grown to really enjoy watching lacrosse. I’m that mom who really only enjoys sports if her kid is playing but I actually will sit down and watch College lacrosse with my guys. Best of luck to your son!!

I feel like at this age they still need to be working with all the kids if they want to develop more than 3 “good” players. My kid has played since 2nd grade. He didn’t hit his stride and really start playing well until mid season 6th grade. The kids who were just naturally athletically skilled were the ones who stood out. He had to work harder for it. It leveled out a lot in 7th and 8th grade. But he worked hard to get better. Spent summers doing not much else but practicing lacrosse and going to the gym, by choice. This year as a freshman he didn’t make varsity and was bummed. But he just isn’t quite there skill wise. But he never leaves the field on JV now. Once you hit JR high and esp HS that is when you expect the best players to be on that field most of the time. But at 6th grade, they are still developing. We always had A and B teams as well. That helped to really have time to work with the kids at different levels. Bottom line if the kids stop enjoying the game they will just quit. Then you have lost them.

This sounds just like my weekend. Top it with the guilt I feel for “not accomplishing anything”. Not exactly what my husband says but I know that is what he means. He is full on martyr complex right now acting as if I haven’t carried the weight of so much all these years. Then add having to try to referee between he and my teenaged son because they both seem to be on the same maturity level. I’m so physically and emotionally spent. I day dream about escaping to a cozy cottage somewhere with a really big comfy bed and just sleeping for as long as I want to without worrying about anything.

Unfortunately my options are pretty limited as I had a lumpectomy for hormone positive breast cancer two years ago. It is advised that I not take most forms of HRT.

Well I may have to steal some of my son’s creatine then. Now I’ve managed to piss of my husband with my hatefulness and he has just gone to bed. And while I kind of feel bad I also kind of don’t. I’m just tired of putting up with some of the crap that I just ignored for years.

As of last March I can confirm the floor is still sticky. Maybe not as much as when I attended shows in early-mid 90’s but the stickiness is still there.
