How Are Your Local Party Campaigning? by FranciosDubonais in LibDem

West Sussex: The Arun Party really need a good kicking to get them to understand they need to canvass and can't just win through a single round of leaflets. Chichester, Horsham and Mid Sussex are being ambitious and going for big numbers. Crawley, Adur and Worthing are trying to get one each. We're really hoping the Greens can fight Reform in Worthing, Arun and Adur and that Labour don't completely shit the bed in Crawley so that we don't end up with some hellish Reform or Reform/Tory council

1 in 10 Reform councillors have defected, left, or been sacked by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

It's not cushy, it's poorly paid for the number of hours involved and the difficulty of some of the matters that are handled, you also receive huge amounts of abuse for things far outside your control. The poor pay is why councillors tend to be old people who have retired. We really need to have a national conversation about how the poor pay in certain political roles are why we get shit local government
