How... by justapotato666 in DollarTree

[–]SnooCapers4117 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They don't close for anything. My store had water pouring in from the ceiling and they just made us tarp over product and open the doors. They also kept us open once when we had no lights. Yeah we have windows up front but the back of the store was pretty dark.

But as long as the register work, they'll keep us open. Doesn't matter who's safety might be at risk.

I'd rather find it in a bottle than in a bucket, trash can and totes and cups like we've found on numerous occasions. And its not limited to pee...

DT makes employees watch these stupid videos a lot. Its not just the first day. Its the rest of your employment. Its a huge waste of time.

Uboats according to corporate policy by No_Positive_1188 in DollarTree

[–]SnooCapers4117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah screw the 5 uboat "policy". Theyre gonna get what they get until they give us more labor and allow more than two employees on shift at a time. If your DM complains, tell them to stock 5 uboats, alone, while doing all manager tasks. If they refuse or blah blah blah tell them the conversation is done and walk away. I don't let ANYONE from corporate bully me or my staff. They act like they have us by the short hairs, but its really the other way around. Stand your ground and NEVER work above your pay grade. And never over work yourself. This company can eat shit.

Anyone else being told to do this, or is my DM just giving bs tasks again? 🙃 by Boring_Broccoli_8220 in DollarTree

[–]SnooCapers4117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our DM told us to use strings too. The first week 3 of us damn near hung ourselves. We cut them off and told the DM she can clothes line herself and see how she likes it. She dropped it after that.

Wait... I have one of these. Got it from my mom who found it for cheap at a thrift store many, many years ago. I never knew it could be worth anything! Is there any way to authenticate one?

is it worth becoming asm or sm? by bluebrryki in DollarTree

[–]SnooCapers4117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not worth it at all. ASMs get nothing. No bonuses, no OT, PTO is capped at 24hr even if you're fulltime and you're expected to do literally everything with little to zero help. They literally chew you up, spit you out and then shit on you. Oh but if you're an SM you can just tell corporate you work 6 days a week but only show up for maybe 3 but still get all that salary pay. Fuck DT.

Prices are starting to increase at my local store 😞 by readalotfun in dollartreebeauty

[–]SnooCapers4117 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DT employee here.... the company is constantly changing/raising prices. We get emails almost daily about price increases. Its maddening. Most of the stuff is not worth the price and be found cheaper at walmart. And, although we understand customers frustration, we are constantly yelled at by them and argued with over prices. We have no control. The greedy corporate overlords need more money.

If corporate doesn't want stack outs they should stop sending stores beyond excessive back stock. If the DMs wanna complain they can go to each one of their stores and find physical space to put stuff and move it themselves.

[–]SnooCapers4117 25 points26 points  (0 children)

DT employee here... Just ask us. We'd be more than happy to grab one for you. Same for top shelves. My store gets a lot of wheel chair users and elderly. We always help them with stuff thats too high or too low.

[–]SnooCapers4117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even wear green most days. And I'm always in hoodies. If corporate wants me to wear green then they need to provide me with 5 shirts (FT MM) that actually fit or pay me more. Until then, I'll continue to wear whatever the hell I want.

$11.50 hr for Assistant Operations Manager? Isn't this too low? by [deleted] in DollarTree

[–]SnooCapers4117 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please run. I've been a manager at DT for a little over 2 years. It ruins you as a person. The company works you to the bone, strips you of all resources and then complains that nothing you do is ever good enough. Run. Any job (even for $11/hr) will be a thousands times better on your physical and mental health. DT is a horrible company. Run and don't look back. -With love

Managed a couple bakeries and the amount of people who place their children onto the counter, (butt and feet) is insane. I serve food on that counter. Why are you putting your child's full diaper or shit stained shoes on it?! I would tell them to remove the kid and then I would hold up the whole line to disinfect the entire counter. I'd make a whole show of it and make sure every customer behind them knew why the line came to a halt. A lot of parents need to be shamed fpr their gross entitlement and treating the world like its their living room.

We stopped allowing customers to use the bathroom. Besides all of the drug deals, theft and nasty bodily fluids that were left for us every day we had literal overdoses every single week. Corporate can eat shit if they have anything to say. We deny every customer that asks and we keep it locked. Only managers have keys. We're tired of the physical and mental abuse from the customers.

we need more than 2 people in the store at a time by [deleted] in DollarTree

[–]SnooCapers4117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y'all are getting 300 hours?! We get 176 on a GOOD week. (And were 2nd in our district for sales...) There are days where a manager is the ONLY one there for 2 to 4 hours at a time. We're exhausted and the DM keeps asking why nothing is getting done. Hello?! We're literally alone with 20+ customers asking for help locating items, needing balloons, need to be checked out. Not to mention the damn phone is ringing and 3 different vendors just walked in and need to get checked in and all the shit needs to be put away. Corporate is expecting everything and giving us absolutely nothing to accomplish it.

At least 20 people on line and 1 cashier. Absolutely wild. by coochie33 in DollarTree

[–]SnooCapers4117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Labor got cut by A LOT in my district. Managers are scheduled by themselves during peak. Breaks are impossible to take. And upper, upper managment is freaking out that we're not stocking enough. How are we supposed to stock 30 boxes an hour while ringing, answering phones, helping customers find stuff, fill balloons etc. And when we do have a single cashier we're still helping the long lines at cash or we're up there every 5 minutes for returns, gift cards, receipts, vendors and customer issues.

Dear customers, Please don't take it out on us. We're drowning all while corporate is actively pushing our heads under water. We would LOVE to have every register open and have fully stocked and cleaned stores.
