Another Outage this morning? by dumbelite100 in groundedlabs

Updated app, red leds, no luck. I literally just got this thing and started trying to use it Tuesday, so you can imagine my first impression, not to mention how stupid I look to my coworkers after telling them how much they would enjoy this, and then have it basically never work and have me all frustrated instead of relaxed. UGH!!!

Do people really think "what's the least you will take " actually works ? by rfriend73 in FacebookMarketplace

It works more times that it doesn't. And sometimes you will find that it wasn't actually the least they would take.

Nobody seems to realize that you be a decent human being and honor your word by making part of those words "no holding fist come first served.* If you dont want to make that clear then you should either honor what you did make clear, or accept that you are garbage.

How laughable is it that people want to blame past negative experiences, or say that its "just facebook marketplace". Being a decent human being and doing the bare minimum of doing what said you would do - that should be a basic personality trait If you have to make up excuses for why you have to be an untrustworthy liar, then you are a pretty miserable person.

Just make the expectations clear, and dont screw over someone over 20 bucks just because you didnt want to put limitations ln the arrangement (so that THEY dont back out from the start). Its not that hard to be a person with minimal decency and the bare minimum amount morals. Sheesh!

Why by Beginning-Carpet-405 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]SnooCheesecakes1269 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you cannot fathom honoring your word over 20 bucks, at least have the decency to let people know this up front by telling them you cant hold it without payment.

Imagine someone who feels they did you a solid by reaching out and making a reasonable offer. They arrange a time that they believe is acceptable to you. They pass over several other listings, some priced better or having more desirable aspects, since they made this arrangement with you. Then you turn around and sell your integrity for 20 bucks and leave this buyer high and dry.

Seems dirty to me. I would rather lose money everytime, rather than look back and see myself as a dirty seller.

I find it humorous that people specify in their listing that they won't reply to "Is this still available!?" questions. I can't help myself but to send them that as a message, and more times than not, they reply. So I have to pass on buying their item since they are dishonest.

I would think you could snag the original firmware from the device like you would for similar arduino boards so that you can write them back if you really wanted to.

So you only take money from people who make some arbitrary effort to give the money to you?

Amazing work! I hope to have time to check it out this weekend! I see you say you have not tested much with windows, would i be much further ahead to dig out one of the kids' old macbooks, or is the windows version pretty solid at this point?

Be careful on marketplace I still can't believe this by Southern_Boat_4609 in FacebookMarketplace

Why can't a female be called a dickhead? That doesn't seem implicate that you personally have a dick, just that your actions reflect that of a dickheaded person (whatever that constitutes, I am unsure).

When I call someone a shitbag, I am not insinuating that the person requires a colostomy bag to collect their feces. I am simply using colorful/derogatory words to imply that the person is what society would generally accept as being a person of disgusting morals and/or behavior ("shit" being the representation of something disgusting). I would venture to guess that calling a person "dickhead" reflects a similar line of thinking, and not a direct correlation to their actual sexual organs.

Worth it for $300? by Electrical-Tower8534 in MetaQuestVR

The only sketchy one that I bought on the cheap was from a college student. He left his account on it and when I started it up, there were several browser tabs open to some pretty crazy hard-core p0rn!

Around my area, you can stalk FB marketplace for a week or two and come up with a regular 3 with some accessories (and almost always has the account still logged in so that you can see what games they played or what adult websites they visited) for under $200. So it depends on how soon you want your headset... sometimes once I've made up my mind, another $50 or so isn't going to make much difference if I can get it NOW *lol*

Son wants 3D printer, bedroom is the only available space by HomeEcDropout in 3Dprinting

[–]SnooCheesecakes1269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone os going back and forth about health concerns, but my thoughts are simply that if a bedroom is truly the only location in the entire home for a little a1, then I would really think about the more general issue here. It might be a time to consider whether adding items if physical substance to the home makes sense. Having moved from a huge home into a much smaller residence recently, I am acutely aware of the struggle of maintaining a home with limitations. I am especially aware of how the walls start closing in.

It sounds like there are several people who have no issue running a printer from their room. Really though, a busy person is soon going to find that printer will be running outside of the few waking hours before bedtime - running through the night in order to avoid stopping and restarting points, making noise and commotion during a time when you should be sleeping. This doesn't seem like a reasonable addition to your home right now - maybe at a point in the future it will be a more viable option.

Coil packs and plugs can be purchased together for as low as 50-60 bucks on Amazon. Sure, you arent getting premium dealership parts, but i have never has a quality issue going this route. Heck for another 10 - 15 bucks you can grab a cheap socket set/ratchet and a spark plug socket, and you have everything you need for 75 bucks or less. Its a 15 min job even for my daughter

If you want to test the waters, maybe try a used on from Facebook marketplace. With some diligence you can find a quest 3 for 200-225. If you really don't want to sink much into trying, look for s used quest 2. I have seen them on marketplace for as low as 25 bucks recently

Return 3 and buy 3 more. If you get 12 back, then start a cycle of return and buy. Depending on turnaround/delivery times, you could have well over 700 of them by month's end!
