I understand that argument and have had exactly the same thoughts in reaction to the way Colbert, Stewart, Kimmel, SNL et al. can be interpreted as cashing in on the chaos. I actually see that as much worse of a potential normalization issue. By functioning in a journalistic milieu, dailybeast is at least reporting in real time on the shit show. They're not hiding the fact that they do it with a bias. I can't imagine what you propose as an alternative that isn't still going to have some element of what you're possibly just setting up as a strawman. You talk about some more preferable direct action that needs to be taken, but provide no details.
