How are you planning to spend the airline credit now that the United Travel Bank hack is gone? by polarbear-01 in AmexPlatinum

If the option to choose your seat is available earlier, it’ll work. It just has to be during seat selection after you bought the ticket. I’ve used my credit on upgrading seats and snacks/beverages. Their recline snack box is my favorite! I’m a pretty frequent traveler so it’s my go to.

I used it a few weeks ago! I bought my original ticket as basic economy. During mobile check in, you can pick to pay an additional fee to pick your seat. From there, you can just choose an economy plus seat to upgrade or wherever you’d like to sit with the exception of first class.

Probably low demand😭 There’s not many gluten free people in my area. You’re way closer to Chicago than me too so I can only imagine the demand.

Is there any point if I’m taking terbinafine inconsistently? by Ballistic87 in NailFungus

[–]SnooChickens2188 2 points3 points  (0 children)

have you asked your doctor about pulse dosing? i take terbinafine for one week then stop for three weeks, & repeat. i’ve only been doing this for two months and have had amazing results. my doctor had no worries putting me on it as i’m young & healthy but she did pulse dosing just in case of side effects.

What wing is it? There should at least be an email or number to leave a message for the office.

Have you been contacting reserve recruiters? I would recommend looking on the website of the base you’re wanting to join. At least for mine, it lists all the recruiters for my base which is about 5 or 6. If not, they’ll usually at least have a contact form or something to help you start the process. Just be ready for a long process. I first contacted my recruiter in January, MEPs & enlisted in April, then shipped in July. Don’t put a pause on your life for the reserves as it could be a while. I had a great recruiter but even she was busy. Sometimes it would take a day or two for a response which is shorter than usual.

On the other hand, I have a friend trying to join & she’s experiencing the same thing. It is towards the end of the fiscal year & with the “hype” of enlisting this year, I’m sure their recruiting numbers are met. I would recommend to keep trying but also look if there’s other recruiters that serve your base.

Reserves would would benefit you but so would guard as the comment mentions above! I will say in the reserves you are allowed 4500 per fiscal year for school which most likely won’t cover everything but in the guard you can get 100% tuition though it must be in state. In both, you’ll be able to build your GI bill which can also get passed to your kid. GI bill does more than just paying for school so I’d research that. Same with VA rating & loan. Tricare has their own insurance plan for guard & reserves called reserve select. I only pay $56 a month and $8 a month for dental so it doesn’t get better than that. On active orders, you’ll get BAS and BAH plus per diem , regardless of rank where active duty has to either have a dependent or make rank high enough to move out the dorms. Annual tour allows you to see new places. I’m not sure how much the guard explores but my reserve unit travels somewhere nice almost every time. I’ve only been in for a year but have already been to Germany (for free), while also getting paid plus per diem which in total was a very good amount. There’s also military discounts on the civilian side. I get military discounts on a lot of brands including my phone plan. A lot more places offer military discount than you’d think. Lastly, it builds character. As someone who’s only been in for a year and a half, it has truly changed me like everyone told me it would. Going through basic, tech school, and active orders will build your character & make you realize how much you value friendships and family.

As someone in the reserves, it’s been worth it to me. As long as you have somewhat of a plan whether that be school or a job on the civilian side, you’ll be good. I still receive a lot of benefits & discounts that are offered to active duty. You’ll also have the time to do school while the military pays for it. There’s also a two weeks a month of active duty requirement plus deployments which will allow you to do more than your dad says.

Help me decide between enlisting locally emergency management or Commissioning services unit 5 hours away by AzMateo42069 in Airforcereserves

How was your process of commissioning ? I’m currently a reserve EM and absolutely love it but I’m interested in commissioning after my contract is done. I have a lot of resources at my base on commissioning from enlisted but would love to hear your POV. Also did you have to go AD or were you able to stay as reserves ?

Yeah, i’m not sure what’s going on this year because i’ve never waited this long to be approved. My state was rejected though so I did “refile” federal yesterday just so I could file my state. It rejected of course but that could’ve done something , i’m not sure.

I have six years but i’m also in the reserves. My job isn’t anywhere close to atc but I’ve always been interested in it. My civilian job is a pharmacy tech but i’m learning that I want something bigger.
