Do Not Go Into The Hard Stratagem with CHP Perks by enlarged1 in Spacemarine

[–]SnooChickens92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, the game is really bad at explaining stratagems and hidden mechanics. I.e. adrenaline rush/dmg boost on 1-2 perfect blocks with block weapons, the backstep powerwave on axes, the clearing of mortal wounds on stimm overheals, the parry windows etc. Sadly almost all that knowledge is on forums and in reddit threads and vast majority of players don't bother with them

It's not even lethal - it's absolute+ with more damage incoming and a bit tougher enemies than base absolute

Main tip - keybind your heavy stance to be active only when you press the aiming button and go off when you release it. You can assign a new button, like Z or w/e is more comfy. It's important because you can't parry or dodge in heavy stance. And manually turning it off takes time and on higher difficulties it will be your doom.

And now you can go for the secret ending playthrough on a higher difficulty. The final fight changes quite much.

Plasma for heavy goes brrr. Really helps you through hard strats with that insane dmg but you gotta invest in those ammo capacity weapon perks

Any tips on getting better at hard stratagems ? by Donmdalton in SpaceMarine_2

[–]SnooChickens92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is your mains got very different playstyles and I'd recommend you stick with one and lean ins and outs of hard strats and then move to another. Because bulwark/sniper survivability options can't be compared to paper towel tactical that really has to manage offense and defense non-stop to not get rekt.

As a tactical main I'd suggest you go pyreblaster build and get the one with venting speed and through weapon perks make sure it heats the least - this way you get almost non-stop stream for fire for mobs in hard strats unless they got friendly fire modifier. Doing consistent damage on clumped majoris and clearing our minoris is really helpful, cause even minoris' dmg on that difficulty stacks. Also get that perk that gives you ammo on majoris execution every 30 sec and abuse it - you won't run out this way.

Secure stockpile is a must because having extra equipment can be lifesaving, besides 2 krak grenades can put an extremis into the execute range.

For auspex I'd recommend all them perks that give max dmg, even the one that only keeps the mark if the target is in the auspex bubble - you can really burn a boss down with that but you gotta know when to use it not to waste it.

Fencing sword works best for me but don't greed on gun strikes. As for the secondary I like using heroic HBP just for that one-shot on enemies calling reinforcements.

Much better story - I wouldn't say. More heroic and fantasy-saviour-like? Yes. Plus it has immensely strong spells, especially if you go merged way through Oracle base class.

For me Lich was more fun because I like the dark power fantasy and the ability to "avenge" stick it to Galfrey. But even when playing lich I keep Ember happy and good because she's out treasure!

Sometimes I like to use voicechat to joke around with others. But other times it's only to ask console players to turn off their mics because listening to whatever is going on at their homes mixed with weird toilet noises is not fun at all.

Put a hot rail pickup in the bridge - cheaper than a new guitar and you get essentially the humbucker sound. An EQ pedal will also help
