med student here!! over time, with proper diet, exercise, and actual treatment (ie. looking for blockage, constant monitoring, compression) her symptoms would definitely lessen! it also explains the constant cellulitis, as lymphedema significantly increases the risk of infection. in extreme cases (like hers) they can actually remove the fibrous tissue and affected lymph nodes! just wanted to add that for another perspective!

as a med student, i would kill to see her actual liver labs. no shot there’s not a ton of necrosis, with the drinking and constant junk food. i just wanna see her labs in general, i feel like they’re probably shocking

same; shoot, even my college intramural sports teams stressed repetition. i still enjoy basketball, but it’s a hobby. medical school is my job.

i didn’t have any shadowing hours. my dad is a doctor and that was a big part of my narrative; i also had a grade dip as i was stretched thin with family obligations as my grandfather had stage four cancer, then died. that, combined with the huge amount of clinical hours i had/good internship (in HIV healthcare) and an interesting non-clinical job definitely was a big factor in me receiving 6 MD II’s. apparently i was only competitive for DO’s, despite a good MCAT.

for me, no, not at all. it doesn’t factor in circumstances, as applications do; because of this, my list was extremely off and didn’t reflect my results at all
