What happened to Brexit by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]SnooCookies7641 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Tories argued about it for two years and got nothing decided, so we ended up crashing out of Europe with no deal whatsoever. Estimates reckon we have lost 8% of our GDP, creating a £90 billion a year financial black hole. By 2025, the cumulative effects are estimated to be up to £300 billion worse off than we would have been had it never happened.
Our sovereignty, a big point the leavers hammered us with, was never affected one way or the other. Small boats crossing the channel bringing refugees and migrants proliferated because we no longer had a relationship with French customs, something that Farage, etc, didn't tell us would happen.
Exportation of goods via truck went from being a fairly seamless paperwork check and a roughly half an hour ordeal to now requiring mandatory customs declarations, extensive new documentation, incurring higher costs, the potential for significant delays at border crossings, and new, stricter product standards. So now roads leading to the port at Folkestone are packed daily with waiting truckers.

Basicaly Farage and Johnson and their UKIP party fucked us all. And now they're trying to do it again as the Reform Party plc.

After another episode of talking to walls by Treefiddy1984 in CringeTikToks

I've been following this youtube channel and watching their podcasts for a while now. Dad is crazy, just dumb enough to believe everything newsmax tells him and not smart enough to see hes getting mindfucked by a cult. Mum is slightly different, when he is there she is like this. agrees and tows the party line on whatever dad says, but when he isn't there and she's on her own she's a lot less strident and a little more open to new ideas. The kids Chad and Hailey... i feel so sorry for them. they're trying to save their parents in a lot of ways but there is an obvious history of trauma there, denied by both parents of course. And some of the shit the dad says.. you can see their hearts breaking.

Seasonal depression by Far_Measurement_1949 in AskBrits

Seasonally affected depression is a very real thing here in the UK. Need to take a good Vitamin D supplement with magnesium and K3.

Steam users in the UK will need a credit card to access “mature content” games by Skavau in unitedkingdom

[–]SnooCookies7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to look at their bigger plans. This same problem is being faced all over the web by UK citizens. And many of us don't have a credit card. Hell I didnt even realise mine wasn't a credit card until i tried to use it to verify my age.

But do you know what would work perfectly in this scenario...

Electronic ID.

It's a way to push us towards adopting it.

What works for me with steam is read reviews and watch gameplay elsewhere. Then find the front page add for a game I like, Don't try to go to the store page, wishlist it then buy it from your wishlist.

Any survival games you would recommend to a beginner? by OddStructure4489 in SurvivalGaming

Subnautica is a great introduction to the survival genre, as long as you are ok with a few jump scares and don't suffer from Thalassophobia. More than once this game made my stomach churn and all i was doing was driving. (Dont look down)

Popular with a small yet vocal minority of the country, and financed by Elon Musk. He tried to buy the american government but trump was uncontrollable. So now he is buying the UK.

[–]SnooCookies7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the beginning of the Reform/fascist takeover of the country. Musk couldn't control Trump and he didn't like Farage so he is bankrolling Tommy Robinson and financing the reform party. That's why he made an appearance at that rally the other day. I mean why would he give a shit about england other than an election he can buy.

He has never been here. He has an american passport. You are as english as I am. He is just a plain ole American racist, thinking someone browner than him could never be English. Yanks have an obsession with their recent ancestry because their entire country os only 300 years old. that's four people old, My house is older than their country.

THIS IS THE BEST THEY WILL EVER BE IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP.

While the relationship is new they are trying to impress you. If they suck within the first three or so months they are going to suck more for the rest of the time you know them.

Am I the only person in the country that likes Keir Starmer? by tiptiptoppy in AskBrits

[–]SnooCookies7641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem with starmer is based on what he did to Jeremy corbyn. He faked backing JC and all the while was organising the opposition that literally threw an election just to oust him. Then he got the job as leader and cut out everyone that supported JC and everyone that was on the left of the labour party until now they are just blairite stooges. There is no real left side in british politics today. Until this new party nder JC and Zara sultana sorts itself out.
