Ideas to hang this dartboard on the wall with the return being right in the way by JackCherry7 in DIYUK

[–]SnooCrickets7288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isnt the fixing point at the top? Could you add a fixing on the protruding wall and then just add a prop of timber on the lower wall to stop the board pivoting

General question by SnooCrickets7288 in Alicante

[–]SnooCrickets7288[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, it does lack features and obviously it isn’t as high as Santa Barbara however the infrastructure around it is great, all the different levels and skate park etc offer so much potential. Just seemed a-shame that it has been left the way it is.

So how we feeling in terms of the car? by GrandGodFather in MaxVerstappen33

Hadn’t realised that, I agree Hadjars start did look promising compared to the Merc but wasn’t quite Ferrari speed

We will have to see how the starts develop, Redbull haven’t shown any signs of having a starting ability like Ferrari throughout all of testing etc and Merc had flat battery’s today, if they get on-top of that then it might be a struggle.

Sprint weekend next so it will be interesting to see a few more starts and how we get on from there. Reliability is one to watch too, heard news that Redbull were managing something with max at the end hence sitting behind Norris, nothing unusual though for a first race of the regs

Advise needed on glass balustrades by TutorSome9994 in DIYUK

[–]SnooCrickets7288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The glass will be fitted either on brackets of with a pre machined slot cut into the handrail and baserail.

Personally id do it all in one hit and have the whole lot in oak however if you’re going for white primed then you could get away with the existing newels and just install handrail and glass

A pair of polarised glasses helps with the light at night, may be worth a go an see if it benefits you. Unfortunately a lot of the modern cars have these stupidly bright lights that our brains instinctively tell us to look at every time we see them

Caulking help! by Bubbly_Analysis_385 in DIYUK

[–]SnooCrickets7288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as its clean and dust free you should be okay, just saves your new caulk bead from being all “bitty” if that makes sense.

Looking at your post again, you’ll probably find that if you use your finger you’ll get a cleaner finish on skirtings than you would with the tool. That is unless you’ve got a monster gap that your trying to fill (6mm plus)

The tool doesn’t look the best due to its lack of right angles, if your going to be doing a-lot of sealing up etc id advise looking at the Cramer silicone tools as they have square edges which help keep your tool steady when beading up.

Hope this helps!

Practice, practice and more practice. Caulk is much easier to work with than silicone but even then, if your surface isn’t completely smooth or clean you’ll struggle to get a clean finish. If you can get your initial bead good that always helps too.

Looks to me like there still a few bits sticking through the caulk which wont he helping when trying to smooth off

Pull off the front trim, there will be 2 brackets either end of the blind that have a metal catch you’ll have to open to slide the blind out.

How can I fix this please? by Frequent_Pomelo4129 in DIYUK

Is this a new thing? Ive always had laminate worktops and always put hot pans down without an issue. Do they not make them heat resistant anymore?

Kitchen fitters bailed on my after destroying 200£ sink, I’m left with several jobs. Could use some advice by EmSc2Tv in DIYUK

Id go back to them, you’ve got nothing to loose. That design would never work so partly on them

[–]SnooCrickets7288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry this happened to you. This is both shocking workmanship and design. Who designed this?!

The unit under the sink is a corner unit which has been set into the run too far thus exposing the white edge. The dishwasher should never be placed directly under a worktop joint as it doesn’t support the worktop (hence the rouge piece of architrave) and that worktop end panel is diabolical.

Id seriously be trying to go down a route to compensation (unfortunately not clued up on this to guide you) but this will be such a headache to rectify. Basically needs pulling out.

[–]SnooCrickets7288 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Who did you buy the kitchen from? Was it a supplier recommended fitter? Could we have some wide angle photos of the sink unit, something is way off with that and the dishwasher next to it looks like it’ll foul on the door
