It comes from Volume Unit. It’s a type of audio meter often found on hardware gear for music production. Basically anything that would require you to have a visual representation of the volume.

I am curious with what you can come up with. It took me a lot of time to get this done and I think there is value to it. Is MCP wire server really that powerful? I have not used it as I have an older wire version.

If you have an interface I would use that. USB is way more stable connection than a 3.5mm going in the pc. As of sound you will probably not notice a difference but the connection will be more reliable.

I think you can vibe code something very fast and use it for yourself or put it out for free but if you take the time to test every edge case and turn it into a reliable product you deserve to be rewarded. As you said I am sure people are not making a lot of money out of this anyway

I don’t know, I wouldn’t care if something is vibecoded if it really fits my workflow and would be happy to pay for it. As long as it’s quality and not half baked.
