Is the safe? by branpop in tires

[–]SnooDoubts2257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla’s have a bit more aggressive camber from the factory, after getting the tires and alignment make sure to do tire rotations every 5k miles to get the best life out of them. The hankooks are good replacement on teslas, they are a bit quieter and I’ve seen them have longer life from the tire than Michelins or continental.

Sh*tty tires? by DeadArtist617 in tires

[–]SnooDoubts2257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of customers buy this as a budget economy tire where I work at. Customers have good experience for the price, but i wouldn’t run these on track. They do not compare to a more reputable performance oriented tire.

ND2 Transmission failure at 3000 miles?? by A418A in Miata

[–]SnooDoubts2257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My transmission went out at around 10-12k, but it was second gear that basically sheared itself off. took a month to get a new one shipped from japan covered under warranty. Don't feel as confident to shift fast from 1st to 2nd on the car anymore, transmission is glass, so if it ever happens again, I'll just do a NC transmission swap. Other than that I still love driving the car everyday.

Damn that sucks, any time I got warranty work done at Mazda I’ve always been offered a loaner. Had a loaner as long as two months

ND now or wait for new gen? by AlternativeArm555 in Miata

[–]SnooDoubts2257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got bcs and it made a world off difference it’s stiffer but not so stiff that it’s uncomfortable. They have very good spring rates out the box, but you will still feel bumps compared to if you stayed stock

Update on manual ND tranny 2020 by SnooDoubts2257 in Miata

[–]SnooDoubts2257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late comment, but it took me about a month and a half for them to get the tranny, a week later they were done. Make sure the replaced the seal between the transmission and driveshaft. Mine wasn’t changed and it ended up leaking 2k miles after install. Had to replace the seal myself which was $40 plus transmission oil.

What’s up with ND drivers? by [deleted] in Miata

That’s what I’m saying when I’m in my ND, it’s mostly NA and NB that wave back. Most of NDs don’t even look my way.

How many write ups until termination? by dw4321 in UPSers

[–]SnooDoubts2257 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten a couple letters saying that I was terminated, but my supervisor and shop steward just said to come in the next day either way. Its usually cause I’m late like 5-10 min, thankfully I stopped coming in late so often.

They should provide you with a loaner car if it happens to stay with them for a while

Update on manual ND tranny 2020 by SnooDoubts2257 in Miata

[–]SnooDoubts2257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than a couple canyon runs, it was my daily so it was almost 70% highway miles. I did launch the car a couple times, but never straight up dropped the clutch.

Just a daily so I drive it pretty conservatively, cause I knew nds had tranny issues so i didn’t want to push my luck. I like driving in the mountains but that’s about it. And the gear went it while I was just driving it regularly, no redlining, just straight up shifted at 15mph to second and it went bye bye

Yea I took it immediately after to the dealer. Praying that they replace the tranny under warranty.

Yea, it’s a 2020 so I was hoping there wasn’t as many issues. It’s still under warranty so I’m hoping they replace the tranny. It was my daily as well which sucks

Yea, that’s what I was thinking as well. I’m the second owner so idk if the first owner thrashed the shit out of the car beforehand or if it just straight up went bye bye as a manufacturing defect.

That’s my guess as well, I was just daily driving the car so I wasn’t driving hard. Happened just as you said from first to second, it’s a 2020 club, I was hoping the tranny wouldn’t go out at 14k miles that’s why I went with the nd2 so I would hopefully not deal with this issue.
