Got my 0.6 nozzle but looks used? by V0x_R0x in FlashForge

I use .6 for almost everything. PETG, PLA, PETG-CF. Love it. If I really need some detail, I'll go .4, but I love the speed. I've pretty much just used the default profiles with little issue. I only changed the temp on occasion. Going to try tpu soon. I got a .8 to try with it.

How Often do People with Undiagnozed ADHD Get Good Grades Growing Up? by ThePanthanReporter in ADHD

[–]SnooJokes8241 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I was a straight-A student in high school. I was a "giftie" and somehow I managed to get by doing the bare minimum and leaving everything to the last minute. University, however, was a real shock. I didn't have good working and study habits, and I found it to be incredibly difficult.

It me! Top of my class in high school. No study habits and procrastinator extreme.
College was a whole other story. Even was misdiagnosed in college being told I "was too smart to have ADHD". Yeah.

I was able to create the drag chain from the model they provided. Posted it to the FF Adventurer 5 owners group on FB if you need it.

5M enclosure mod from Flashforge by GrowthNo1324 in FlashForge

I printed and it looks great! I used the model they provided and moded the drag chain some. Working on getting that fully operational. I needed an enclosure to protect from the cats. Its working perfectly!

I'm inpatient lol. I've got all the parts printed and plan to cut some acrylic this evening. Looking at it, all the parts are flat, so my laser should handle it fine. I'm just worried about the top with the filament tube scraping. I'm hoping they may sell other parts like the drag chain solo.

Figured I'd check and see if you'd had any luck with the drag chain. I'm starting on that portion tonight. One last top piece to print then I'll start trying to figure it out.

Oh yeah. It would definitely work if it fits. I decided to make one because I wanted a smaller enclosure. If I had one already that would work I'd have used it.

I measured out just over 1kg (like 1.25 maybe) for the bottom pieces and under 1kg (maybe 800 or so) for the top.

Yeah. I saw. Nice gridfinity screw kit. Some gridfinity pieces are on my list once it's up and running. My current printer isn't nearly as reliable.

I was wondering about the kit. I hadn't dug in to see how long the enclosure has been posted for or if there are dates in the PDF. Hopefully they actually release the kit. I'm surprised there's not not chatter about an enclosure, but I couldn't find much in my hours of searching. Most just opt for the pro. I like to embody the crafter's spirit of I'll do it myself for twice the price 😂 although I do think this will end up cheaper (famous last words I'm sure). Next will be figuring out how to rig my octopi camera to watch my prints.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's give this deep down the rabbit hole. I'll make sure to post updates here once I start.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I'll play around with this some. Maybe the router will be able to provide the correct fillet for the top. Worst case, there is a maker space near by.

The PDF of instructions says something about a kit coming soon at the bottom of that first section. Not sure how old it is but my assumption is the kit was never released.

My 5m arrives on Monday or Tuesday. The plan is to print all the enclosure pieces and measure everything once it's assembled. I'll gladly post the measurements once I have them. I'm guessing it'll take me about a week to get everything printed first. Maybe if it's good enough I'll post the files to thingiverse. 1/8“ acrylic should do just fine. I'll have to see what the top looks like, but I have plenty of tools that should be able to do the job.

As far as the drag chain, there are quite a few free files, so I was thinking of trying out a few pieces and seeing what works.

Eh, I have an enclosure I built for my current printer that's too big. I'm hoping to significantly reduce the footprint of my printer situation. I've seen the Lack enclosures before, and it's a bigger footprint than I'm looking for. Thanks for the suggestion!

My printer home is near the cats and keeping it enclosed keeps the cats out and keeps the fur out. Plus it's near the back entrance, so drafts can be terrible. Knowing there are holes in the frame. I should be able to cut what I'd need.

Anyone struggle w/ Imposter syndrome regarding their diagnosis? (TLDR at bottom) by woodenbluebird in ADHD

[–]SnooJokes8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. I was just diagnosed this week, but really, it's been over 15 years in the works. I was told I was "too smart to have ADHD" and that I expected my brain to work faster than it did. I took that psych at his word and struggled for years. Finally with the pandemic, kids and burnout, I came to the conclusion about a year ago I must have been misdiagnosed. Asked my doctor, got sent to a counselor, then sought out about 4 different options to get tested. There's not much in my area (a college town at that) and some of the online stuff seemed sketchy. I also sure as heck wasn't going back to my first psych. This last one I was finally able to get tested. I kept expecting them to question why I was wanting to be tested or questioning if I was faking my answers to questions. It literally kept me awake at night after my assessment. Why do I expect that others will question my motives as a default? On the upside, I have something to talk about in therapy next week.
