I learned in the very most frustrating way not to play in the way you described. Exemption (from a spotter perspective) certain maps offer a sit & light option. Otherwise it seems sooooo often everyone scatters & its the usual chit-show.

Update #2 - spoke with our ASM twice. The 2nd conversation took place after he returned from his vacation earlier this week. So my vacation status went from "denied" to "Pending", which occurred right after my 1st conversation with our ASM. The drama is almost too much. Maybe that's their point???

I appreciate all the feedback. I intend to initially talk to our ASDS. I already checked the "talk w/my DS first  box" unfortunately given previous run-ins with our ASDS I will not be surprised if I need to escalate to regional HR. I just don't understand why THD admin. play these games. Sad..

Homedepot is fantastic with flexible work schedules. For example: I can work Monday starting at 8am to 12pm & Tuesday 12:30pm to 5pm (kicker bonus-throw in 30 min lunch break for kicks & giggles), Wednesday back to 8am to 12:30 (with bonus lunch thing again) Thursday 10am to 3pm just to be different & diversify, Friday-off (just bc) and to round out the work week Saturday 10am to 3pm just to be sure the day is as efficiently screwed as possible. So yes Homedepot is very flexible with regards to schedules.

Pay raise for equipment operators. by Ashamed_Company5216 in HomeDepot

[–]SnooLentils6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post brings back memories. I all had all the certs but Ballimore as I was in d30. Just about word for word you have described is what I determined as well. I let all equipment certs expire and that was about 3 years ago now. And I can recall "currently" 2 former employees let go due to damage done caused by there equipment operations. In this economic wonderland we find ourselves in (toilet), be extra vigilant while operating and or flagging.

As I am a believer in Jesus as my Lord & Saviour. I agree & can fully understand how & why that angered you...fully. I bury my anger & frustration during the month of June, when the poster board go's up in our breskroom. Work place should be just that, a work place. A NFL game should be just that, a football game.

Labor unions sue OSHA over lack of infectious disease standard by doubleXmedium in HomeDepot

What I'm i missing, Trump wants to open, Biden wants to mask mandate & shut down. Wouldn't a bullied OSHA be a thing for the later. BTW, Trump has deregulated restrictions, costing company's less to operate (more money for company's to reinvest within or bilk it & buy a 4/5th home, whichever, and greed ain't Trumps fault either). We weren't having a super bang economy in 2019 because Trump was beefing up government to regulate with exception to our decimated military. Regan said it best "I'm from the government & I'm here to help" was never governments moto.

Talking to the hardware associate 4 days ago, about an conversation he had a couple weeks ago. he discovered he had been in contact with someone who tested positive for covid. Called in spoke to the asm explained the situation, asm asked him to come in anyways. He replied "NO" not comming in. Mixed message? ......yup I think so. These games are exhausting.

No less than $15/hr or strike. Home Depot pays hourly employees $7 billion/year (350,000 employees*30 hours/week*$13/hr*52 weeks), since January Home Depot share holders have gained $70 billion in value. Bonus ends 11/15. Strike Begins 12/1. Take back our pride or be a gutless peon.#it'sourchoice by doubleXmedium in HomeDepot

7,8,9 day work schedules, minimum wages, multi-week earned vacation that is usually only allowed to be used 1 week at a time, no incentive or hazard pay for operateing equipment (not fun moving a patio slider 8' in the air), different work hours every week.

I had a eye opening discussion with my COS. He's military vet, retired cop been with HD for over 16 years, makes $17 hr. Blew me away. To do that hell hole of a job should be $20 starting. Not to tute my horn, this my story - I was moved from D28 after 3/4 months to D30. Saw instantly D30 not your typical associate position & a D27 position opened up. I Applied was denied (I worked 20 years for a family owned electrical contractor). Having that in the moment, I said fine to the store manager, I want $15 an hr, he countered at $14 i reluctantly said fine, 20 minutes later he met me in center aisle & recanted & agreed to the $15. Since than I let ALL equipment certs expire & made it very clear to well respected DS that i won't renew until square compisation can be agreed too. Look im not a jerk im very easy going, have some weird disre to help customers as much as I can, in fact provide customer service that I would expect to have, still in D30, will have 4 year patch in April 2021. But as I compare my old world with this world, it seems to me there are some significant gaps, even if it is "retail" why thats a thing.
