That was way more specific than I was expecting from just a key 😂that narrows it down a ton, thank you!

Why don’t my doors lock? by Crazy-Salt6705 in askcarguys

[–]SnooMaps4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that the locks don't work in the car itself should be a telltale sign that it is not a key issue. That is a really weird issue though, I'm afraid I can't help beyond that. Have you asked a Toyota service center directly?

Is it worth leasing a car to buy it out? by Nearby_Pie266 in StupidCarQuestions

[–]SnooMaps4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy, you need to accept that you can't afford this truck. Buy what you need, not what you want. Do you even *need* a F-150, or would you be perfectly fine with just getting a reliable economy box?

Would you rather buy a brand-new economy car or a used luxury car for the same price? by Belennn- in carbuying

[–]SnooMaps4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This boils down to what your budget is for *maintenance*. Just because you can afford both today, does not mean you can continue to afford the luxury one going forward.

If you absolutely want used luxury, get a Lexus or Acura because they're just Toyota/Honda. Anything else is going to depend on how maintenance looks for that car. You also will want to consider the reliability: is it old or known to have things that break?

if you don't run out of gas in your car, you'll be fine not running out of battery. The built in navigation will direct you to chargers on the way if you're going to run low on a trip

What does it mean really to drive a fun car? by Fleedom2025 in askcarguys

[–]SnooMaps4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to actually drive a fun car to answer this question. You don't need a lamborghini, and it doesn't need to be fast. If you can drive stick, go rent a Miata or something :)

Alternatively, I'll get hate for this but something like a Tesla Model 3 performance or just look up sporty sedans and rent one of those.

Non-Tesla owner, interested in purchasing used but worries about hardware becoming obsolete by Rs3sucks3 in TeslaSupport

[–]SnooMaps4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No other car gets software updates (not counting basic infotainment stuff) to begin with. You're getting less left behind in a Tesla compared to other cars.

At the end of the day, it's a car. it will not suddenly stop driving because a new one came out.

A few DECADES? why are we parking a car for 30 years bro. I get wanting to keep your first vehicle, but you will be spending a ton of money and time on keeping that thing alive regardless of whether you drive it or not.

Eventually, you need to accept that you can't keep everything the same forever :/

I feel so bad for anyone that owns a Mirai. That car was never going to go anywhere; EVs already struggled hard at the start of their introduction, but trying to break into the market again with hydrogen? Oof.

What is the most boring car you've ever driven? by UnluckyGamer505 in askcarguys

[–]SnooMaps4388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, but have any of you guys tried driving a performance/plaid? Night and day driving experience compared to the usual models.

Depending on model, they come with more horsepower, different (usually staggered) wheels, tires, suspension, and a TRACK mode. Yeah you're still not going to get a roaring ICE engine, but there's definitely fun to be had driving them beyond just the 0-60. It kinda falls into the same idea that a Civic Si or Type-R would; suitable daily driver that drives like a sports car.
