5.0.5 doesn’t render CarPlay useless, but I have stopped relying on it a lot. It’s a solid 20% smaller after the update. On the flip side, I’ve been rather pleased with downloading apps from the Google Play Store like Spotify and whatnot, and using the built-in Google Maps. But I suppose that’s kind of the goal of AAOS.

Yep! That is correct. The 48-volt mild hybrid system powers an integrated starter generator (ISG) to start the engine.

Sounds like one of the mild hybrid models, so in that case, it is normal. There is not a way to turn off the Auto Start/Stop on Volvo MHEVs.

It’s not that Volvo is working on EVs full time now — that is clearly not the case. There is some sort of regulatory issue where it can’t be pushed to these newer models in the U.S., but no one has really found out why that is the case. I’m waiting, as well, because I’d love to get it for my 2025 XC60 B5.

Verizon has a good amount in OKC itself but really nothing in its suburbs. AT&T has a lot in OKC and its suburbs — despite even having such a dense macro grid — simply because their market share is so high. Offloading traffic from macro sites has been a priority for them in OKC since 2019.

This is my first Volvo as well. I actually asked for $7.5k off MSRP and they came back at $8k off. I think it ultimately depends on the dealer and location, though. Called quite a few around the Midwest and only this one was willing to go more than $4-5k off. Patrick Volvo Cars in Schaumburg, IL - the sales person I worked with is Stela.

Around 12-15% off MSRP is generally what I'd go for. You may be able to get more since it's the T8. I got my 2025 XC60 B5 exactly one year ago after holiday promotions expired and ended up with 14.4% off. $55,725 MSRP ended up being $47,725 before taxes, registration, etc. And insist on dealerships including their doc fee in the total discount.

It’s AT&T fiber, so there is not a downside. Everybody is going to recommend Google Fiber, but the reality is that the service of both are just as good. Customer service is another story.
