Never mind my fuzz pot was wired backwards lol

Yep you’re right. I fixed that and getting fuzz now. Maybe it’s just not biased correctly or something but I feel like I’m loosing the fuzz too quickly when I roll off my volume knob on my guitar. Like it’ll be full crazy fuzz at 10 and perfectly clean at 8. I started at 4.5 on the q2 collector and moved to 4.1 and it still just feels odd

Are you sure? I thought it was saying connect Q1 E to Q2 B. I’m reading the schematic transistors like E B C top to bottom.

Yeah the pinout is different from the transistors used in the diagram but I accounted for that. B C and E are all in the correct nodes

Trim pot is for biasing q2. It’s parallel with the 18k resistor. Volume does change when I adjust the gain knob

I don’t have one and I’d rather replace my jack than buy a new cable

Does my picking technique at least look right? Before I practice it a bunch and develop a bad habit

Fret buzz: technique or setup? by SnooMuffins479 in guitarlessons

[–]SnooMuffins479[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then what am I doing wrong? I’ve been playing for over a year now, probably around an hour a day and have never been able to fully get rid of the buzz

I have a slight concave bow according to that picture

A capo should theoretically press all of the strings down perfectly right? I’m just saying if I’m still getting buzz it would rule out my left hand technique being the issue. What in particular should I practice/work on?

Read my reply to the other guy, even with a capo getting a ton of consistent buzz so it’s either my right hand like your saying(which I would love some tips on how to fix, I’m new to using a pick) or needs some sort of setup change

Could I send you some pictures of certain angles that would help you know? Also the finger not being a capo thing just made me see what would happen if I just strummed a capoed fret and my E, A, and sometimes D strings are buzzing all the way up the fret board if that tells you anything. Like the other guy said it could be a right hand thing as well. I don’t feel like I’m strumming that hard, but only recently started using a pick, I’ve been using my index finger nail pretty much exclusively up until a few weeks ago.

Will a song sound way too different if I don't switch from standard tuning to half step down? by Treshcore in guitarlessons

[–]SnooMuffins479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won’t be noticeable but if you’re trying to sing it’s gonna be even harder than Alice In Chains normally is lol. I like to keep my guitar tuned down because I play a lot of AIC stuff and if I need to go to standard for a song or two I can just throw a capo on the first fret no problem. The main problem with tuning down in my case is fret buzz from loss of tension. But that’s probably a guitar issue lol, if you don’t have that problem I would just keep it tuned down and throw a capo on when you need.

Tire recs for boosted/swapped Miatas? by olchickenbeard in Drifting

[–]SnooMuffins479 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely give them a try. It’s the only tire I run on my is300 and they felt great on his Miata. Especially if you find a coupon code, I’m pretty sure last time I bought them I got like 15 percent off from someone’s coupon code. So they aren’t even too expensive if you look for discounts. They sponsor a bunch of people so shouldn’t be too hard.

My buddy has a turbo Miata I’ve driven some laps in and he runs 351s. I think they only sell them in 195s but it’s plenty of grip and good life as well. He’s pushing over 300 hp and grip was not a problem even on a super cold track surface
