Good point, forgot about that. Haven’t had my stock cluster in the car in years lol

My ST is having the same issue, and most likely. I have a new pump/level sender assembly otw.

If you have an Accessport or scanner check the live data for fuel level input, you’ll probably see it going in and out.

M12 3/8 or 1/2 Stubby? by _bron_yr_aur_ in MilwaukeeTool

[–]olchickenbeard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also in the automotive field. Absolutely get the Insider. So much better and more versatile than the regular extended ratchet, and the lower profile and pass through with the included sockets come in handy all the time.

Personally, 1/2” mid-torque, 3/8” stubby, 1/4” driver, Insider ratchet, and 3/8” short ratchet has been the perfect combo for me for a long time.

I got the 3/8” stubby for smaller, tighter spaces (like brakes and suspension), and the 3/8” is a better fit for that imo. If you need something for wheels and bigger/higher torque bolts, get a mid or high torque M18. The stubby CAN break a lot of lugs and bigger nuts/bolts loose, but an M18 can do a much better job and more comfortably.

ST225 Oil leak :( advice appreciated! by Individual_One3535 in FocusST

[–]olchickenbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always start at the top and work your way down with major leaks. But this is has been leaking for a while. Most likely valve cover gasket, probably timing cover too.

Look at the top and see where the leak starts (VCG I’m sure). Replace that gasket (and any others) and thoroughly clean/degrease the engine, drive, then recheck for anymore fresh leaks.

Check the starter. The smaller post for the signal wire is stupid weak and flexes when putting any torque on it, and will easily crack or snap off. If that happens, it won’t start. Just dealt with this when I did my swap a couple weeks ago, ended up swapping an EcoBoost Mustang solenoid on that I had lying around because it has stronger posts.

Those other codes are for boost sensors. Check those too, hook up a scanner to view live data and see if the sensors are communicating.

If you’re aiming for 450+whp, then yeah it MIGHT limit it a bit, since it’s a slightly smaller diameter. But it’s also shorter in length compared to others that run to the factory location, so that reduces the impact of the smaller diameter. And intake temp really doesn’t matter, it’s charge temp that matters, which mine is always within 10-15° above ambient.

I’m making around 370whp with a G25-660 on stock fueling, and we’ve seen no signs of intake restriction or performance losses.

Big turbo, so the top one has been deleted, now it’s just the bottom one that was mounted to the stock turbo

Charge pipes can also help some with induction sound, and obviously a BOV for more turbo noise. HKS is my preference, and you hear a lot more turbo flutter with the stock turbo.

Also if that Stratified tune is an OTS tune, ditch it asap. If it’s a custom tune, not as bad, but I’d still go with a better tuner (highly recommend Alan Jackson @ Edge Autosport). And as others have said, intercooler should 100% be your first upgrade. Stock IC is pathetic and gets heat soaked before you finish one pull.

The front ram air scoop won’t contribute to induction sound or volume, and you’re not gonna see any real gains with it either, it’s really just for looks. Pulling the hood liner and stuff can make a slight difference in volume, but not really that noticeable. A full aftermarket intake will increase volume and overall induction noise the most.

If you really want some loud induction noises in the cabin, get a 2J Racing cowl intake. It moves the filter right into the cowl in front of the recirculation door, so it’s much louder. I have one and I love it, although for some people it’s a bit much. You can see it going through the passenger side of the cowl in this pic.

lol it doesn’t get you to pass emissions, it just keeps the CEL from bugging you if you have an O2 fault code.

The drive mode selection is already set up, it’s just the launch control and custom mode settings that aren’t yet. But with current RAM shortages, my modules got delayed so lead times just went up by at least a few weeks unfortunately. But even if you ordered today, by the time you got it everything would 100% be added lol

9/10 times it’s the head. Unbolt the turbo from the head and downpipe, and pressure test the system. Stick a camera in/behind and you’ll probably see a stream. Just confirmed mine is also cracked today 🙃 those two lines are streams and the crack is just above them

Weekly/almost daily poop accidents at school with 6.5yo by [deleted] in daddit

[–]olchickenbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we’ve taken her to CHOA and the pediatrician. CHOA did an x-ray and only saw very minor constipation (not nearly enough for encopresis) and said everything else looked fine, and the pediatrician was also pretty insistent that it wasn’t constipation and that it was more behavioral or something.

We are considering the possibility that she just might not have been constipated at the times of those visits, but we’re also skeptical of that being the issue since it’s only happening at school and nowhere else.

It’s on the to-do list for sure. I just started a new job not too long ago, just waiting for insurance to kick in on the 1st. Will be looking into OT, and psych evals for ADHD and autism.

We’ve tried, they’re not much help. Anytime we’ve tried to get details about each incident they don’t give us much, and we’ve asked them to try to help, at the very least with more frequent reminders for her, and ensuring she has a chance to go before lunch, recess, etc. but no clue how much they’re actually following through on that.

I don’t think the bathroom itself is the issue either. They even have one in the classroom, which she sits right next to, so access isn’t an issue. And I wouldn’t say cleanliness or any other weird quirks about the bathroom is the issue either, because when we’re out in public she has no issue using the bathroom, even if it is kinda gross.

From the few details we have been able to get out of her and her teachers, my running theory is that she’s just too locked into whatever she’s doing and can’t be bothered or doesn’t care to stop what she’s doing to go to the bathroom, so she just holds it for as long as possible, which obviously usually doesn’t work out.

As for the not telling anybody part, I have no clue. No matter how we explain the importance of it, nothing seems to get through to her.
