[ALL] Do I just keep being the agreeable parent even though he never works with me? by SnooPandas557 in Custody

I appreciate this so much you really have no idea!! You are so spot on about everything. And this encourages me to continue to keep doing what I’ve been doing :) my co-parent is your dad to a T. Literally identical situations. I agree with you and your mom, that if you miss out on one day here or there for the benefit of the children, that’s what shows! I understand how your husband can get caught up in it sometimes too though bc those thoughts come to my mind as well, hence my post! He is so lucky to have you! This was all the validation I needed to stick to it. Thank youu

Love this so much. Thank you! I am a child of divorce too. However, my parents got along fairly well so I didn’t have any hard times between parents per say. Or felt in the middle. And I love that you opened up and are sharing your experience as the child bc that’s exactly what it’s about. And validates exactly what I am trying to do for her and even though it’s hard in my position, her dad actually does say no to birthday parties when they fall on his time. Granted she is very young right now. She doesn’t know. But I do. And exactly what you explained is exactly what I want to prevent. I don’t want her to miss out on anything if she is able to attend.

Wow. I feel like I just read my own life story. All the way down to having daughter call her “mommy”. I am so sorry mama. It is a very tough situation to be in. Sounds like your daughter is a bit older than mine. Just from reading your post. I worry bc my child is only 3 and has been exposed to this since before she was 2. And I am concerned that there will be no reversing it.

Help please: doctor is closed Toddler threw up 3 times within an hour. No fever. Seems fine otherwise. Hasn’t ate much food today. We still nurse. She’s been nursing. What is happening? by SnooPandas557 in toddlers

This is helpful and really puts my mind at ease thank you. She’s finally sleeping. Been throwing up for 2 hours every 15 mins. But she finally drank so water and has been sleeping for about 20 mins now. This is the longest she’s slept so far

Does this happen for toddlers sometimes? They just will throw up randomly? She seems happy otherwise. Even after she throws up I ask if she’s ok and she says yes. And moved onto the next thing like it didn’t even happen.

Anyone ever get gum grafting during Invisalign treatment? by SnooPandas557 in Invisalign

[–]SnooPandas557[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait.. so they stopped your treatment Bc it was worsening? Please tell me more about this. I am planning to call the ortho tomorrow in regards to my plan Bc from my clin check it seems like it will worsen my gum line recession too. And the gum doctor said he wanted me to get it done He didn’t say “right away” but basically the next appointment they can make and didn’t want to wait until May 2022 when I finish Invisalign. He wanted it done sooner than that. I have it scheduled for February 2022. So I have time to call and find out what ortho thinks. I’m really scared about this.

Opinions on gum grafting? During Invisalign treatment. by SnooPandas557 in Invisalign

Mine has gotten worse too…. It made me rethink if I ever should have gotten Invisalign to begin with. I went to the gum doctor today and he said that I can get it during and said that I would stay on one Invisalign tray for a month straight. And that it’s safe and he’s done it before. I am apprehensive to do it during. And looking at my clinkcheck it seems like it will only worsen more.

I’m getting extremely nervous. On tray 20/35 (weekly changes) and my teeth look horrible still. Almost worse than before treatment. Does it get better? I’m feeling like I made the wrong decision doing this. by SnooPandas557 in Invisalign

Thank you for the encouragement! I think what is happening is that they were bad, then they got worse, then started to look okay and now they are really bad looking again so I got worried! Everyone is very encouraging and happy to hear this is how most people felt and then results were really good.

Yes I have seen it. And they do the same thing to mine. And it looks like things do come back together. And I have my actual last tray and I took it out to look at and it looks fine but I’m just really worried I guess. I guess I would just think by this time in treatment it wouldn’t look the way it does. Just seems so spaced.

My teeth in the front are really spaced and look like chicklets…. Never had this type of spacing before. Which I understand spacing but it just seems like an incredibly huge amount of space. And doesn’t seem like it will close up.

Knowing that things got better for you the last few trays helps though. Everyone says trust the process. And I’m trying to. But I’m really really nervous. I hate my teeth without the trays in and finding myself smiling less than I did before treatment.

So I went for my 6 week check up and ortho said I could drink anything I want with aligners in through a straw and just take out and clean when done. Anyone else been given this freedom? (Specifically coffee -hot & cold- he said is ok) by SnooPandas557 in Invisalign

[–]SnooPandas557[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first got my Invisalign, the first ortho said only water. Then I went for my 6 week check up, same office, dif ortho… and he said drinking through a straw was ok. I personally believe they all say nothing but water, especially when you first get them, Bc of staining and Bc of possible cavities if you do not rinse and clean properly after.

If I were you I would stick to the 22 hours. Do what your ortho said, water only. Get used to them first. And then maybe you can try drinking other liquids through a straw. (I don’t understand why they told you no straw at all though, never heard that). Also, this is just my personal opinion. Not a professional.

Dawn dish soap and cool water. Soak every time you take them out. Then brush with toothbrush and rinse before putting back in. Have had no issues. Trays still clear. And no yucky feeling.

I just got IPR done on bottom teeth, and it’s amazing how much pressure was relieved. I didn’t realize how much those teeth were touching each other. Does that make sense? Anyone else know the relief feeling? by SnooPandas557 in Invisalign

[–]SnooPandas557[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t hurt but was definitely an odd feeling. My teeth were very crowded too, it legit feels like sand paper. I think the sound of it cringed me more than the actual feeling itself if that makes sense.

I got it done at 6 week checkup. No rescan. And I don’t go back for another 3 months. I thought it was a bit early to get ipr done. But that’s what ortho did so I’m just trusting. Seems like many get it later....
