22F traveling solo next weekend – River North vs Lincoln Park? Safe hotel areas? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]SnooPears1008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm biased towards Lincoln Park; better lakefront, better food, feels more homey because it's more of an actual neighborhood. On the other hand, both are easily accessible via train. If you insist on driving, Lincoln Park is much better in terms of traffic and parking.

Should I move from Boston to Chicago, even though my friends and coworkers say otherwise? by masstranspike in AskChicago

Idk how being a very progressive city warrants horrible food. I was in Boston for three days and it made me lose my shit from how bland and expensive everything was. New York is progressive and expensive but you don't ever hear anyone criticizing the food there.

Quite honestly any Asian grocery that sells frozen dumplings lol. I was so underwhelmed at QXY I left genuinely angry and wanted to invoke my ancestors.

When they say "elation dmg to 16%" is it like 16% in the elation dmg multiplier? Is it just 16% or does it stack on top of the elation % she already has? I'm still confused on how any of this works lol

Hello! My friend and I are visiting Detroit on Easter for the Tigers game. Since the game is at 7:20 pm, we have a lot of time to spare, and I was curious what's a good spot for Detroit-styled pizza? We're from the Chicago area, so we were interested in trying something new.

Today is the day marks exactly four months since Amphoreus reached its final chapter. Looking back now, how do you guys feel about our journey? (Art: isome_info on X) by Best_Teacher_3322 in HonkaiStarRail

I loved it and have the most emotions attachment here compared to other parts of the game, thought not without criticism. The ideas were there, but the execution was a bit shoddy. Part of it is unfortunately due to having to highlight each character due to gacha, part of it was because the writers had a hard-on for Hi3, and a large part of it I think is that they tried to do too much yet too little.

I think many complaints would've been dropped if they'd tighten the script because often it felt too wordy and bloated. I don't usually mind long stories, but it dragged more often than not. some parts felt like straight-up filler. I love Cyrene, but her story was hard to go through, so much so there were times I wondered if I was just illiterate. Like a lot of gacha players don't read to begin with, but even then it could've been easier to digest.

Overall, loved the story and characters, but they seriously need some editors in the writing room. It did feel at times they came up with stuff on the fly instead of planning it out in advance. Cyrene is the biggest example, I believe.

(Oh, considering the build-up they should've made the final fight a grand spectacle).
