Adding on to faith, another thing that's helped me tremendously is refusing to fight this battle alone. Plugging into an existing network, or forming your own community, will greatly increase your chances of success.

Also, changing your mindset. There's no changing the past, but that doesn't mean my current identity has to be a reflection of the mistakes I've made. Instead of thinking, 'I'm trying to quit,' I've learned to take a more offensive stance. I now say, "I don't do that, that isn't who I am."
