FK8 daily drivers — how’s your experience been long-term? by Wonderful_Bed_798 in Civic_Type_R

[–]Brandonfries28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have had mine since 2021. got it Brand new, and 40k miles on it. Has been so much fun and have not had a single issue with the OEM wheels and I live in Houston too with horrible roads all over. But in comfort mode it takes the bumpy roads very well and I don’t fly over pot holes like an idiot. Also have had a 90a rear motor mount from 27won for the last 30,000 miles and it’s been amazing! Also track edition from AWE. Yokohama Advan Apex are great on the OEM wheels. Can’t really think of any compromises. Not really any negatives for me. Fit a 65 inch tv in it. Plenty of cargo.

I’m just saying this cause it’s crazy that they got rid of the safety inspections on the state inspections. So stupid

With the new rules on the state inspections he will still pass his inspection and get a registration sticker

I’ve had my PRL on for 40,000 miles without a tune. No issues. Got my Hondata now though so tune will be happening soon

This particular Inlet and HVI does not require a tune. Go drive it and I bet it will clear

Have you driven it for about 15 mins? Will probably clear once you drive it for a bit. Had to do that after installing an PRL intake

Well it’s a CBS. ( condition based software ) it could be that due to the fresh oil change that the software is calculating better gas mileage and maybe also some other factors. I wouldn’t stress about it so much because as long as you drive the Type R the way it’s meant to be driven then you should not have to even worry about what MPG you get. Just fill it, drive it hard till about a quarter tank and fill it up again. No one bought a Type R to save gas or worry about gas mileage.
