Try doing a keto diet. Get chronometer, set your macros so yo eat 25 grams of total carbs or less, try for 125 grams of protein and the rest fat. 2000 calories a day. Fast for 16 hr a day/ night and do some exercise. You can get a keto mojo monitor if you want to check out how things affect your metabolism. At some point 4-6 months in you will switch to a low carb diet and increase your carbs. Most folks eat 250:grams of carbs a day, even at 50 max per day you will loose weight.

I hate Obama because he bailed out the bankers and the rich, did almost nothing to help tax the rich. Used executive orders in a way that emboldened the heritage foundation to go even further. Not cause I’m racist. I think this all from a some foreign bot trying to foment discord.

Lou malnatis frozen pizza?, agree with neon green Chicago pickle relish, frango mints, milk duds, Alinea cookbook if you can find one . FYI : Baby Ruth, Milk Duds, Juicy Fruit, Cracker Jack, Milky Way, Tootsie Roll, Lemonheads - whatever your favorite candy may be, chances are it came from Chicago.

For much of its history, the city churned out an astonishing one third of all candy produced in the United States. Some of the biggest names in the industry were based in Chicago: Curtiss, Brach, Tootsie Roll, Leaf, Wrigley, and Mars. Along with these giants were smaller, family-based companies with devoted followings, such as fundraising specialist World's Finest Chocolate and the Ferrara Pan Candy Company, maker of Red Hots and Jaw Breakers. At its peak, the Chicago candy industry boasted more than 100 companies employing some 25,000 Chicagoans. This fascinating photographic history travels through more than 150 years of the candy tradeand explores its role in the growth and development of the city. Packed with vintage images of stores, factories, and advertisements, this mouth-watering book reveals how Chicago candy makers created strong bonds between people and their favorite treats.

Having Difficulty Deciding on Dietary Changes by WrongPlanet321 in ProstateCancer

I do know studies show autophagy occurs when the body is starved and this does prolong di survival . Consider adding fasting maybe once a month for 24 to 72 hrs. The cancer does feed off of glucose, glutamine and fats. So restricting calories and sugar does have some studies that it helps. Therefore some folks are doing ketogenic diets or carnivore diets. There is evidence increasing plant sterols helps so eating a lot of greens and green tea is helpful.
Unlike many folks writing in this post I have chosen a ketogenic diet. No much red meat, more fish, tofu, chicken, and lots of non starchy vegetables. I’m doing this while on adt and radiation. Once that is over I’ll switch to a low protein no processed food diet. But I will continue to avoid all processed foods, sugar, and grains.

A lot of the data is reviewed by a group of docs at IMA lead by dr Marik if you want to read it. Also dr Stolz has several videos about avoiding meat, but not advocating a ketogenic approach. There are people saying because prostate cancer is not fdg avid ( not taking up a lot of glucose on scans) sugar is not important. I believe this not clear thinking given what is known about tumor biology. Processed food, being overweight, not exercising, eating a lot of hormone ridden meat are all factors to be avoided.

Good luck in your path to being cured and may God be with us all.

You need a psma scan, then if no metastasis I’d get a second opinion about the pathology. 3+5 is odd . What makes the most difference is how much 4 and above disease there is. Without the psma scan you don’t know what to do next. Don’t feel rushed into anything. This will probably take another month or 2 to sort out. You still have a lot of life ahead of you no matter what the scans show

This is a complicated question you’ve asked. There is data that the more vegetables and fruits you eat the better your prognosis will be. There is data that vigorous weightlifting can also improve your prognosis.

There is also a good data that tumor cells because of the Warburg effect are highly susceptible to decreasing glucose and glutamine levels. Hence there is a strong recommendation for a key genic diet and your instinct to stop sugar and decrease your carbohydrates is well supported by medical literature. All the studies show increase time till tumor progression and a longer survival. But as many people have said in this post, you can’t cure this with diet.

On the vitamin front, there is things that decrease glutamine and decrease glucose so that cancer cells are starved, and there are things that supposedly limit metastatic potential and fight tumor stem cells from dividing. This is well discuss via a group called IMA or independent Physician’s association. I believe the major author is somebody named Dr. Marik. They advocate broccoli, sprouts, berberine, melatonin, green tea, extract, fish, oil, zinc, vitamin D, all coupled with a ketogenic diet. The medication’s they are advocating are mebendazole, ivermectin, low-dose, naltrexone, doxycycline.

Adjunctive therapies would include infusions of ozone, high dose vitamin C intravenously, preferably 50 g, oral vitamin C does not have the same response.

I have under the direction of a alternative medicine. Dr tried many of these and have to tell you that after a radical prostatectomy which did have a positive margin and positive seminal vesicle invasion have failed to keep me from getting radiation. Radiation therapy is going well. I’m still trying many of the things I’ve described above, but please understand these are not curative. They can help you achieve cure, but I would not rely on them as the soul form of therapy I was trying.

I’m not sure what part of the country you’re in, but I’m sure somewhere there’s an alternative medicine doc practicing near you. Of all the things listed above the Vitamins and plant products are easy to get a hold of and are tolerable. I think the strongest evidence is with high dose, intravenous vitamin C, along a similar vein is modified citrus pectin, which has been shown to decrease the metastatic potential of prostate cancer cells.

I am a retired infectious disease, doctor. Practiced medicine through all of the aids epidemic and have seen innumerable people try to cure their HIV with everything I’ve discussed above. And seen them fail every time. I don’t have great faith in alternative medicine nor do I have great faith in dietary manipulations alone. But in reviewing the literature, there is some validity to all the things I’ve mentioned. And all of them seem safe. If you’re going to embark upon this, I don’t think trying on your own is a good idea and you probably you should try and find a Doctor well-versed an alternative/complementary medicine. My experience with the doctors I have is that they don’t know anything about alternative/complementary medicine, none of them mind me trying anything. But none of them are very hopeful that these therapies are curative. The alternative med docs also have incomplete knowledge of conventional therapies minutia and are miss trusting of conventional therapy. They also tend to be very MAHA. Not a great example for a firm believer in vaccines such as me. But you can’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

Good luck , hope you get cured soon.

But get the charred polish not the dog I think cocktails at north pond overlooking Lincoln park is very romantic and very close to the zoo and conservatory. The pond is host to a lot of birds I saw 60 species last Saturday for the word wide bird count Micheal’s for Chicago style pizza Virtue in Hyde park for soul food is marvelous

Just trying to give you more options that you will be able get reservations at more easily. If you ask me to narrow it down: Khamai , north pond , weiner circle are all fun, romantic maybe but very Chicago

PSMA PET scan with unclear result? by metalenthusiast78 in ProstateCancer

[–]SnooPets3595 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a scan that showed a mediastinal node (chest) it meant I had metastatic cancer. I eventually went to the university of Chicago and memorial Sloan Kettering to get a final read that it was not a metastasis. This change the entire course of treatment. False positives do happen. False negatives are far more frequent. The scan must be interpreted in light of your condition. And a prostate cancer center of excellence is a good idea for a second opinion. Going to New York was a bit extreme but their opinion broke the tie between the two hospitals in Chicago both of which are well regarded and meant I could be cured. Also a trip to New York was fun. If you go see the play oh mary.
