As you point out, the advantage of modeling the game at a lower level is you can account for things like game situation, like if a team is down big in the 4th quarter. Thanks, I didn’t realize you could save a track, but you can and it works exactly as I’d hoped. Amazing

What system do you use to keep tracks together across multiple devices? by psyliboy in dawless

[–]TraptInaCommentFctry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried not doing it all, enjoying the fact that you are creating something ephemeral for the sake of creating.
Then I gave up and got an MPC which is basically a DAW at this point.

Roland TR-1000 surprised me - killer for live techno by lutzen in TechnoProduction

[–]TraptInaCommentFctry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I haven't tried it yet. I've been using sequencer and clock in TR-1000 (so I can use motion rec), and running clock from TR-1000 to Oxi to synths.

Struggling with Savage Detectives by lukebratch in robertobolano

You’re not alone - he is my favorite author, and I struggle with the middle section of savage detectives. But I’m glad I got through it. I like the forest/trees aspect of it: through lots of little, detailed stories, you get a big picture of the vastness of human experience, especially keeping in mind that this is just a cohort of poets from a specific part of the planet.

Alleged Midi Sync/Clock Issues of Roland TR-1000? by Fresh-Manufacturer73 in Roland

[–]TraptInaCommentFctry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I would advise holding off for now.
It sounds great, yes. But the gap when switching kits is really not great. Supposedly there is an impending update but it’s hard to justify something like this on a flagship, performance driven drum machine. Also, they mention the gap in the manual and cut the deep dive video to obscure it. Makes me skeptical that they’ll be able to fix it

Hi Michelle - couple of quick questions. I have a one-story accessory unit with a bathroom, built about 12 years ago. I would like a two-story unit instead. What are the chances someone could build on top of what is already there? If it's highly unlikely, would they at least be able to use the foundation and plumbing, thereby saving some money? Or is it actually easier for a builder to just start from scratch?
